I used to run my own cake making & decorating business called "Mackajacks" and have several years of experience in making toppers and decorations from sugarpaste. I have since finished making cakes but I continue to make toppers but using Polymer Clay instead of sugarpaste. One of the things I learned while making cakes was that people love to have keepsakes. Be it a wedding, christening or birthd
ay cake, everyone likes to be able to keep the figures so painstakingly made just for them as a memory of their occassion. Sugarpaste is a great medium to work with but does not tend to last long and is so fragile and easily damaged. Treated correctly they should last a lifetime! What better keepsake? I have added photos in the Gallery of just a few of my previous cakes to give an example of my work. Some are quite old and the photos aren't the best quality for which I apologise, but it will give you an idea of what I have done before. The only difference with these are they are made from sugarpaste, not clay. Not only do I make cake toppers but I can make a number of other items also including decorated Tea lights and Jars. I can also make models of dogs & cats, made to replicate a beloved pet. Figures can be made on a clay base of you require to give them stability.
