Recently we had this little munchkin in for BOAS surgery. This stands for Brachycephalic Obstructive Airway Syndrome surgery.
This is a condition that is common in short nosed patients.
The symptoms of this condition can include ( but are not limited to) noisy breathing, difficulty breathing, exercise intolerance, heat sensitivity, sleep disorders and regurgitation.
Our Lead Veterinary Surgeon Natalie operated on Bourbon by opening the nostrils aswell as removing some of the soft palate tissue that blocked her airway prior to surgery.
Bourbon has now recovered well from her surgery and is breathing more easily.
