In December, dogs are 75% more likely to be treated by a vet for eating human food that is poisonous to them, compared to any other month of the year.

Christmas is a time for delicious festive foods with friends and family, but sharing some human foods with our dogs can make them very ill and could even be fatal.

Xylitol is a common sugar substitute that can be found in sweets, cakes, some peanut butters and is toxic to dogs in even small amounts and it can be fatal.

Persia was a happy, friendly cat who loved her home until her family's circumstances sadly changed and she refused to come indoors.



She opted to live in the garden and when she came to us, she was suffering from a chest infection but is now fully recovered.



Persia is now seeking a quiet, adult-only home where she can flourish and enjoy life as she did before.



As she celebrated her 12th birthday in August, she qualifies for our Golden Oldie support scheme - Golden Oldies – Worthing Cat Welfare Trust
