Waiting for pick up time. So time to play with groomer. Such a happy boy.
All my dogs are allowed to free roam around the salon. And in this case Twix wanted to be near Juanito so no problem . He came on the table as well and for most of it he just went to sleep. They are both very well behaved dogs so this was ok to do with this two. I had no fear of any of them jumping down without me helping them down. . But you have to really know the dogs and their temperament. It was a quick video to show that you do not need to use any restraints.
A bit of scissoring on Charlie.
Charlie- Paterdale/ Border Terrier. Charlie is one of my dogs. Here we are getting his hygiene area clipped. He does not have a lot of hair there but can still get knots if I do not clear it. And we like to have a bit of fun while doing it. I find it better to do it this way so I can do it quick for him. Charlie is very used to his mad mummy.
Charlie- Paterdale/Border Terrier senior 13 years. Pads being clipped.
Mummy I am ready to go home.
Another cute video. Remember in this hot weather never leave your dog in your car at any time! Even when you shop and with a window slightly open. Your car heats up very quickly and your dog can quickly succumbe to this and possibly could die. Always feel the pavement with the back of your hand if you can not leave your hand there without it hurting it is too hot for your dog to walk. Always carry water for your dog and if you must walk your dog please do it early morning or late afternoon when it is the coolest. If very hot it is best to leave your dog at home with the curtains closed.
How to cool off on a hot day. In a pool much safer than a river. Obviously supervised at all times. And only a short time maybe 15 / 20 mins as swimming is more strenuous than a dog walk. And also remember not all dogs enjoy swimming just like us.
When I say I groom on the floor if necessary. I really do. It may be more difficult for me but if it suits the dog that’s all that matters. And yes that noise is rain.
Snowing. Lots of undercoat.
Small hairdryer for a small dog.
Mini clippers for a mini dog. Clipping the pads.
Please note my videos are just for fun. They are not to teach you how to do any part of a groom. Clippers and scissors can seriously cut your dog . Please never attempt to copy.
Archie -Chihuahua having a massage after his groom.
Meg-Yorkshire Terrier exploring the bath. No water, no noise until I feel she is comfortable.
Blossom long haired Chihuahua having a little tidy up.
This is myself and Izzie sitting on the floor for her groom. I had already used the blaster dryer on her and was now using my handheld dryer just to finish. As you can see she is so relaxed and slightly leaning on me. What a good girl.
This is Teddy -Cairn Terrier. It is very important when your dog is with me for over 2 hrs that they are allowed time off the table. I always take them in the garden for a break and allow them free access to my grooming space. To just explore and see it is not a scary place. At the end of a groom it is also helpful for me to see if I have missed any hairs while they run around.
