My name is Ellie, and I own and run The Crate Escape, Calne. I have owned pets all of my life and have many years of pet care experience. Currently, I have two dogs (Mildred and Poppy) and three cats (Mabel, Richard and Mortimer). If you’re local to the area, there’s a good chance you may be familiar with myself or more likely, my two dogs who do their best to charm anyone who makes eye contact wi

th them. I made the leap from caring for my own pets and those of family and friends to open my own company as I have a deep love for animals and a passion for taking care of them. I have spent the last three years in Calne with my dogs exploring the far reaches, so I have a special insight in the area as to where all the best walking spots are for dogs who need a good run around. I offer a range of services including dog walking, pet sitting and a pet pop-in service to make sure that when you’re away, you can have peace of mind knowing your pets are well cared for. As someone who juggled a full-time job which often took me out of the home for very long hours, I understand the struggle to find a pet-care provider in the area. I promise to provide a reliable, committed and and friendly service to suit your pet’s needs. Rest assured that they will be treated as if they were a part of my own family while in my care. I am fully DBS checked, fully insured and hold a certificate in pet first aid for cats, dogs, and small furry creatures such as rabbits or guinea pigs. Theo and Vinny, the mischievous dynamic duo. These two boys needed some adult supervision while mum and dad enjoyed a well deserved night away. Full of beans, lovers of cuddles and seemingly endless stomachs when it comes to their dinners.

Milo appreciation post. This guy is all about sunbathing and loves making sure his froggy legs get an even tan. Also likes to scratch his back by rolling on his toys and his favourite pass time is pretending to be a pillow.

Big boy Snow might be taller than me when he stands up with a bark to match his size, but he's also an absolute cuddle monster at heart. He's been taking me for walks and is lucky enough to never run out of new places to explore and sniff.

Mine are looking forward to some brain games and a dip in the paddling pool this evening, how is everyone else keeping their dog's from climbing the walls? 😊

Big welcome to Freddy and Delilah! Too hot for both dogs today, so a nice gentle stroll around the garden followed by some sunbathing and a fuss was in order.

Interesting fact about Chow Chows and Shar-Peis: both breeds originated in China from the Han dog and are some of the oldest known breeds. They are also the only breeds to have a completely blue/black tongue instead of a pink one!
