Flea Alert!!! ‼️
Please can I ask everyone to check for fleas before your grooming appointment.
You might not see actual fleas but what you will see usually around the back end and groin is what looks like tiny grains of black sand (flea 💩)
To test take a few grains and put them on some wet kitchen paper and if the paper turns red that’s blood from the flea poo.
What you will need to do next is tedious but essential and that is treat your whole house more than once to break the cycle.
You can use smoke foggers, sprays and don’t forget to vacuum. (Don’t forget your car!)
A flea collar such as Serresto are great and keep them off your dog too!
I treat the salon with indorex spray but double up and bring out the smoke foggers if a dog with fleas has been in as I absolutely don’t want to risk passing anything on to other dogs or taking them into my house.
After speaking with other groomers there seems to be a lot about at the moment so please be extra vigilant.

It’s a scorcher 🥵 ☀️
The weather is looking fabulous this week but it’s not much fun for dogs.
The salon is shaded on a morning and fairly cool however by midday has reached 30 degrees today, I’m just having to play it by ear.
Certain breeds such as spaniels I can towel dry and send home damp however curly coated breeds such as poodles & Cockapoos that isn’t possible as they have to be blow dried before clipping. I understand every dog is different and age,weight and stress levels also play a huge part in their tolerance to heat.
If you are worried please just get in touch, no haircut is worth risking your dogs health.

With the rising cost of living I thought this year rather than ask for food donations, I’d aim to provide kennelled dogs with a cosy blanket/towel (no duvets as laundering difficult)…you don’t have to go out and buy one…it doesn’t matter if faded or a little worn.
I have few small charities in mind one of which is the Retired Greyhound Trust at Merrybent and depending on what I can collect I may have enough to share out between them 🐾

*You can leave any donations at my gate or bring along to your appointment.
I will be delivering donations as close to Christmas as possible*

Hi, some of you are aware I’ve been having a bit of a rough time with my horse who is very elderly and quite poorly at the moment. I’d just like to apologise if I’ve had to change appointments last minute when I’ve needed to call the vet out or had to be with him.

Hi 👋
Not a post I want to write however with bills soaring I am having to increase prices.
Prolonged use of an electric shower and hairdryer is incredibly costly.
Each dog is priced individually as I know them all so well (time taken, coat type etc) it’d be unfair to say for example All spaniels are X when some take twice as long as others.
Please ask when booking your next appointment. 🐾

It has been a sad few days as we say goodbye to Millie & Daisy, two beautiful dogs so loved by their wonderful owners and will be greatly missed 🌈 🐾
It’s the hardest part of the job to receive that phone call, i feel so blessed to have been a part of their lives for so many years. 💔
