Is your older cat eating more but losing weight?
Getting a poorer coat or showing behavioural changes? 🐈
One of the commonest conditions of middle aged and geriatric cats is an over active thyroid gland (hyperthyroidism). This comes on gradually as the thyroid hormone level rises, eventually having a significant effect on your cats health and wellbeing. The good news is that once identified by a blood test treatments are available and the thyroid problem can be successfully controlled in most cases. If you have any concerns about your senior cat please book an appointment with one of our vets who will be happy carry out an examination and advise if any further investigations are required.
