So I’m experimenting with water colours. They are not my favourite medium - I much prefer acrylics. But, we’ve taken on a lodge/caravan - ‘codge’ we call it, on the south coast so I have to adapt my art as lugging acrylics and all they entail would be no mean feat! So I’m trying to incorporate my style of art using watercolours plus the odd one or two acrylics and other mediums. It’s quite good fun, just seeing where this goes. Anyway we go back home today, so back to my bigger acrylic piece of work! (Swipe left to see!)

I’ve finally finally finished ‘Tigers’. I’ve not constantly been working on it as lots of other things going on. But I’ve hugely enjoyed this new subject matter and media. Acrylics, stencilling, and some texture pastes. Finished off with several coats of high gloss varnish, which really brings the colours out. (And not a single rhinestone in sight!).

Another from the archives, that I’d forgotten I’d done! Whenever we’ve been on a plane, I use the iPad and one of my 2 or 3 drawing apps to enhance one of my pet portraits. Here’s one of my own cats, Tonto (an Ocicat). My favourite digital drawing apps are Procreate, Infinite Painter and Fresco. I use them all for one piece of work, swapping between the 3.

We’ve just got back from the private view of this year’s AppArt exhibition. It is probably my favourite to be involved in - so well organised, promoted, and friendly. A great vibe. And as for the standard of art! - all (700) pieces are very high standard indeed in different mediums and subject matter, plus of course the sculptures. And there were several red dots already - one being a friend of mine so that was exciting! It’s on for the next 2 weeks!

Let me introduce my feline buddies! Giving me a big cuddle is my Tonto; he’s a real scaredy cat - of everything - except us thankfully! He’s an Ocicat and a very big boy! Swipe left to meet Ruby. Our Bengal. Need I say any more other than she is a real fl**zy!! They are a super breed and she’s a very affectionate girl.

My newest piece of art. Drawn on 260g Bristol board with numerous and various graphite pencils. This is a newish subject matter for me - no one famous but a lovely lady from the great era of the 1920’s. So it’s now ready to be embellished on mdf board. Should be fun I think!

I’ve finally got round to finishing the very beautiful Liz Taylor. A3 size, graphite and Conte pencils on Bristol Board. Ready to be embellished after Christmas. I think blue embellishments would be best… what do you think?

So, I’ll be posting regularly with prints available of my pet portraits in various styles, to help raise funds for a vital operation for little Elpitha as per the post from Shima Cat Hotel This poor little cat was truly in a very bad way (and I know there are many many similar stories like this😢), but with the loving care she has been given by Paula and Andina Treamer-Davidson, she is on the road to recovery. With this final operation, it will enable her to live a happy, healthy life. If you wish to purchase a print, just message me here or on Messenger!

Yes! It is far too early to be thinking about Christmas but I’ve had to keep busy somehow! I’ve had my other knee replacement so can’t stand too long at the mo, so until I get back in my art room I’ve been working on the iPad. So that’s this year’s Christmas card sorted! Hope you like it!

50 years married today! Golden Wedding! Happy Anniversary Nicholas! And thank you for my beautiful flowers this morning! So folks, here are some memories from the last half a century 🙀! No digital photos in 1973…. We just got an album! And we always wore something old, something new, something borrowed and something blue; in this case the garter!)
So there’s us as kiddos; me, when they thought I should be a singer (I wasn’t having none of that! I dived off out with my pals as soon as those pics were taken!). And Nick with his gang of pals on their bikes…
Our first house in Hayes, Middlesex, and our second in Whitton, where we had our babies and I loved that house.
A few pics as young marrieds… and then THE (first) Dinner Party we went to, hosted by Nick’s boss at the time, which had such a profound effect on me. The crystal glasses - one for the white wine, one for the red, and one for dessert wine (and I never drank wine in those days!); the matching china; the white tablecloth, and the silver cutlery, laid out properly for each course…..but I didn’t have a clue which was for which course, so I had to wait and watch and copy!! That dinner party set me on a mission to ALWAYS go over the top with hosting… and for becoming Mrs Christmas!
Then came along the bubbas…. Kelly and Ross, and then the family grew…. and grew…❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️. A few fun pics thrown in…
Happy Anniversary Mr Reeves. I love you just the same, and thank you to our beautiful family for just being yous, the people you all are. I / we love you all. 💕

A makeover for our snug - done on the cheap! (Apart from one of the cushions - but won’t tell the husband!) 😉🙀. The room needed brightening and lightening up and white emulsion seemed the obvious (not to mention cheapest!) option. What surprised me the most though was that my art works - which I’m the first to admit isn’t everyone’s cup of tea, but it works very well against the white walls! A little insight into the finishing touches of a painting. Eye shadows feature heavily in my work now as they are so subtle and chalky. Fixed with a fixative spray, they work perfectly. Notice little Ruby taking centre stage at the end... well, I do share the room with her so I guess she has every right!
