Do you recognise this cat?
He was brought in to the practice on 9th November after being believed to be a stray in the area.
He is not neutered and unfortunately has no microchip or collar.

This young, female rabbit was brought to us on the 6th November after being found at an address on Elvington, Kings Lynn.

Meet Pablo!

Pablo recently visited Dr Dominika Hap for his vaccinations and to be microchipped.

He is a Presa Canario, which is a breed we do not see many of. As you can tell from the size of his paws, he will grow MUCH bigger than this as he gets older!

We couldn't miss up on the opportunity to give him lots of fuss. What a gorgeous boy 🩵

He is a neutered male cockerpoo type and is currently receiving treatment from us. He is microchipped but no details registered.

🧠Today's welfare focus is BEHAVIOUR - being allowed to show normal behaviour🧠 Rabbits are extremely sociable animals and can get depressed without social interaction with other rabbits. Rabbits are very friendly and enjoy interaction with other rabbits and humans. It's important to make lots of time daily to interact with your rabbits. Never force handling of your rabbits. Take time to sit with them and encourage them over with treats. Rabbits do not naturally enjoy being picked up and tend to prefer being fussed on the floor where they feel safer. When you do need to handle your rabbits, you should place one hand under the rabbits chest and the other hand under the hind legs. Lift them while holding them against your body to keep them secure. Rabbits are not aggressive by nature however they can bite, scratch and kick when they feel threatened. Rabbits who do not know each other are at a much higher risk or being aggressive. Bonding rabbits can be a lengthy process and needs to be done gradually. Rabbits are very inquisitive and need to be given the opportunity to explore, hide and forage as they would in the wild. Happy and content bunnies will often 'Binkie' and 'Bunny Flop' and can also get zoomies. All of which are very cute to watch. #veterinary #rabbits #rabbitcare #rabbitbehaviour

See what happens during a key hole (Laparoscopic) spay for a female dog. The Laparoscopic spay is a neutering procedure that consists of three small wounds and is beneficial for working and lively dogs. This is because the surgical wound is smaller and the recovery period is shorter. As you can see, Pepper was such a good girl for her procedure. Have you recently added a new puppy to your household? You may be a first-time dog mum/dad or just wanting to refresh your puppy training skills. We offer a four-week course for puppies aged 8-14 weeks (3 and a half months), with some of our Registered Veterinary Nurses. These nurses will be holding 4 classes over a month, every Wednesday or Thursday, to help aid you with your training. Once your puppy has had their first vaccination and met one of our vets or nurses, they are ready to join the course. Here are a few details on what the classes cover: Week 1 – Toilet Training, Play Biting, Leave the Hand, Crate Training, Reprimanding, Nutrition. Week 2 – Leaving your puppy alone, Jumping Up, Food Aggression, Sit, Down, Parts of the Body Recognition, Touch. Week 3 – Stay, Lead Walking, Before, during and after Walk, Recall, Questions. Our Story

We see cats, dogs and other small animals only, and provide a high level of service at reasonable cost, with staff all committed to excellent pet care. Not all Vet Surgeries are Hospitals. Our multi-award winning Veterinary Hospital is accredited by the. Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons (RCVS). This means our staff, buildings, equipment, service and hygiene are of the highest standard and are staffed 24 hours a day for emergency cases. Keeping pets healthy is a priority, and our Vet Health Advisors (VHAs) offer free health care advice throughout the day, and help individually with weight loss programmes, special diets, dental and diabetic care, and well pet checks. They also hold early puppy training sessions at Puppy Socialisation classes. As well as our normal work, we see referral cases from other vets in Radiology, Ultrasound, Endoscopy and General Medicine and Surgery, Laparoscopy, Dermatology (skin problems) and Acupuncture.

As well as our hospital status – we are 1 of only 5 accredited hospitals in Norfolk, we have won many awards over the years including national Practice of the Year, twice! – in 2003 and 2010 – the only practice in the UK to have achieved this, a very rare accolade indeed! We are also one of only 2 practices in the country to have achieved all 6 outstanding awards as part of the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons Practice Standards Scheme. Our standards are second to none.
