Having someone care for your pet is not something any owner takes lightly, after all they’re your loved ones and part of the family. That’s why I thought I’d let you know a little more about me, so you know who you’re intrusting your fury friend too. My names Gemma and I’m 32 years old. I’ve always loved animals, but growing up with a sister who was allergic to just about everything, fur included,

I was limited me to pet fish, until my sister left home and I got my first hamster. When my partner and I got our first home that was large enough to own a dog, my interest in dogs peaked. Before I took on the responsibility I spent a lot of time learning about the psychology of dogs. I walked friend’s dogs in my spare time and volunteered for the RSPCA to walk shelter dogs. I volunteered for a rescue. We fostered a beautiful Staffy Dora and eventually couldn’t bear to be without her, so ended up adopting her. We was lucky enough to spend many happy times filling her senior years with as much love and care as possible. I started working as a doggie daycare, walking and foster for a local business. I enjoyed many years looking after the regular dogs & puppies that came to me, including several Boxers, Akita, Border Terrier, Weimaraner, Hungarian Vizsla, Collie & Collie/Pointer Cross, Labs, Staffy’s, not to mention the different varieties of poodle mixes and many beautiful Heinz 57’s. Unfortunately, we lost our beautiful girl Dora and after laying her to rest in her favourite spot in the garden, I couldn’t bring myself to get another dog. I took a short break from working with animals recently, which left me away from home a lot and not able to get another dog. However, the reward of spending some much time with those fury little angels and getting out in the fresh air walking has pulled me back. That’s why I’ve set up my own walking business. I’m looking forward to being able to bring another fury rescue friend into my home soon, but in the meantime, hope that I get the chance to help you with yours. I’ve completed two animal first aid courses. I am fully insured and have been DBS checked. If you’d like to know anything else, please feel free to contact me.
