He’s doing well folks considering he came in on deaths door. Goes to show what dedication, love & care can do
Captain has survived another night
Update
I’ve made this update on Captain to expose the damage that happens to their lungs if you smoke around your pet birds. If you have to have a pet bird then please do not smoke in their presence
I will keep you informed in regard to his recovery. I’ve just medicated him, so fingers crossed he will recover
Poorly boy
Earth needs a wash & my garden grass seeds need to grow
This is lady Lou, she is a 40 year old Lilac crown Amazon who lives in doors for the winter & then out in her aviary for the summer. However, I’ve noticed she isn’t as active as she used to be, so I may just build her a flight off the house for the summer & keep her in with us. She is timid & gets shaken around strange people. I’ve had her 7 yrs I think? & she’s out stayed all other rescues to the point she will live with us for always 💚
Captain is a 40+ years old Amazon, he’s cage trapped at the moe. This cage is much bigger than the one he spent his life in & I think he feels that if he came out he wouldn’t be able to get back in. I can’t wait to take him to his future home, where he will live within a flock for the first time in his life... What’s been done to these majestic beauties is nothing short of human bad behaviour.
From the darkside of breeding to paradise
We’ve had many rescues this year that we have taken to their forever homes. We prefer our rescues to go to established organised wildlife parks and those who have well built & protected aviary’s.... Here’s two red lords that are ex breeders. Thank goodness they came to us & will be used no more for breeding purposes... I’ve brought them around to a point, they had to live covered for the first week because they freaked out at any noise or movement. I slowly moved their cover & then moved them into the aviary.. I’d say these guys have been one of my most difficult challenges, but the benefits of patience are so rewarding for them...
My two gallahs are living happily in their new home. My aviary has stood the test of time & many beaks have had a chew. It’s housed over a thousand rescues & all have gone on to live a Beautiful life. From the Smallest to the largest, from the meek to the fierce, ive had them all. & here I am still standing in the test of time... I rescue in the hope that one day I won’t have too... 💚
This little guy is 22 years young & once he’s quarantined, he will be going to his new home. For the first time in his lifetime he will be living with other birds 🦅
