Poultry For Sale Defra Registered Point of Lay Hybrids Ginger Ranger/ Barred Ranger/ White Ranger/ Black Ranger/ Sussex Ranger/ Blue Ranger Blue Ranger This is a noticeably chunkier chick! A wonderfully placid nature makes her a great choice. Colour varies from light violet grey, through to a dark steely grey and sometimes a lovely brown feathering joins the mix. It is derived from a Maran and a Rhode Island Red

Barred Ranger This Maran cross Barred Plymouth Rock is another great pet due to her docile nature. Her lovely plumage is the most speckled of all our birds, the softest and also the most consistent in colour – always shades of light and dark grey White Ranger This is a more delicate bird, slim and petite she might be a ballerina. Not as docile as the other breeds but the only white egg layer Sussex Ranger Another chunkier bird and calm in nature. Her colourings are almost always white with black tips to her wings and her tail feathers, and also her collar. Occasionally flecked with the odd brown feathers over her body Black Ranger This excellent all rounder is often used in France as a commercial layer. The basic plumage is jet black with a lovely variety of colours besides. Some have green and purple hues whilst others show more gingery browns, and some have mixture of the all these colours. A true beauty

Ginger Ranger The Ginger Ranger is a prolific egg layer and lays large brown eggs. They are placid, friendly and inquisitive. They are also exceptionally easy to tame and will follow you around when you are in the garden. They are hardy birds who are very happy free ranging and love to forage. They make excellent pets for children due to their gentle nature and friendliness
