As a professional clipper I'm so lucky to have a horse who just falls asleep during his clip π₯° oh Zakby I love you so much β€οΈ
His clip is done took me over 5 hours but Zakby stood like a pro π reveal coming soon π

I normally use my Masterclip Clippers UK HD Roamer for body clips, but the clipper was in the workshop so I had to use my MD Roamer with a wide blade. It did a good job clipping off Raven's cushing coat

Had some time to demonstrate the correct pre-clip routine. π
Obviously bathing is way better option, but during winter this is another option to get your horse clean.
1.Curry comb all over body, make sure to scrub up all the dirt.
2.Hot cloth to remove grease and the lifted up dirt. This horse gets groomed daily, he is stabled and rugged...I hot cloth him at least twice a week π«£ you can see how dirty the water is.
3.Brush off the dust once the coat is dry.
4.Clip
5.Hot cloth again with some added oil to remove hair, soothe the skin and to give a nice finish. β₯οΈ
I normally use my Masterclip Clippers UK HD Roamer, but this horse is very difficult to clip so I use my MD Roamer with the wide blade. π
This short video is not the best one but it means a lot to me.π₯° (sorry long postπ)
This is Ron, the horse who had to be sedated for clipping through his whole life (he is now 16) as he was just being too nasty. Nothing bad happened to him in the past, he just learnt how to get away with things. He has a very strong personality π
I managed to clip him end of September without being sedated...only used my A5 clippers though as he didn't let me go near him with the big one. He tried everything in his book to scare me off...there were teeth, hind and front legs coming at me...at the same time π€π€£
It was a bit of a dangerous situation sometimes, but I kept it calm and kind of ignored his behaviour, only corrected when it was necessary. πͺ π
just to make it clear I didn't hurt him, only did either backing up or doing circles.
I have been playing with my clippers while grooming him the past few weeks and he has sort of accepted it. I didn't clip into his coat though.
Today I tried him with my big clipper and this is the result π₯° he stood perfectly still, didn't even step away. β€οΈ
I only clipped a bit on both of his side today, as I didn't want to push him too much. Will clip him over the next couple of days so fingers crossed he will be goodπ€
So satisfying π π

Look at Rebel chilling while I was doing his hunter clip π₯°
Rebel has some trust issues when it comes to meeting new people and he is not a fan of clipping either...I made sure he was comfortable with me so I slowly introduced myself in the beginning (with some help of a pack of mints π) and I ended up clipping him loose in his stable while giving him loads of cuddles π₯°
Doing the beautiful Eds half head clip π
