If your dog struggles with things outside then definitely watch and read about Sunny’s amazing transformation from reactive to resilient 🥳 👆🏻
Sunny 🌞 was one of my first online coaching clients and her parents have already done a great job with her before they came to me. 🥹
But with the overwhelming amount of information out there and not knowing what to focus on they felt like they weren’t making any progress with Sunny. She was overreacting to dogs and people and was quite skittish outside. Walks became a struggle and not enjoyable anymore.
With a more focused plan in place where we worked on engagement, having fun, relaxation, lead walking, reactivity and confidence building, Sunny just continued to thrive and surprise us 😍🤩 And walks have become more enjoyable for everyone 🙌🏻🥳
And this 👆🏻 is exactly why I love the tailored approach I offer and working together with dog parents on a plan that the dog will thrive off. 🎉 Progress becomes just much faster when you’re on the right track. 💪🏻

❓ If this is you: your dog fixates, lunges, barks, drops down on the floor or won’t move because they want to get to something on a walk in excitement, frustration or fear, or if they get distracted by things outside, you are not enjoying your dog walks anymore, if you think you’ve tried everything and seeing no progress or if you are feeling lost at what to do. 😔
👇🏻 then this is for you 🙌🏻🎉
I created an information packed reactivity workshop for you as per your request 🙌🏻
I want you to finally stop wondering why you’re not seeing progress, trying random things on the internet that don’t work or doing them wrong. I’ve done it myself and I can tell you now it’ll slow your progress down.
I will teach you everything you need to know to start helping your dog now. And I can promise you, you will find something that you’ve been missing from your approach.
You will finally understand why your dog is displaying those behaviours, you will learn training exercises, how to manage reactions, how to build their resilience, how to structure your walks to keep them calm, how to track your progress, how to enjoy your dog again and most importantly how to not lose your mind in the process! 🧘♀️
You’ll also get a chance to ask me any questions! 😊
So if you finally want to take the stress out of walks, join my reactivity workshop by clicking my link in bio and grab your seat before they sell out.

Have I had therapy sessions to specifically talk about my dog though? Oh yes 🥲😅 No shaming here 💁🏼♀️

Confidence in dogs and why it’s important ⚠️
This is something I love talking and thinking about. It’s something sensitive dogs struggle with quite a bit and it might need actively working on.
Giving your dog a chance to say AND understanding their body language when they say ‘No, I don’t like that being done to me’ is something that can first of all help with their confidence and second of all, great way to avoid bites and worrying behaviours that might be occurring.
If you go in to stroke your dog and they move their head away or start to lick your hand that is one way of saying they don’t want to be touched. Other things to watch out for is yawning, slow blinking or moving away from you.
⚠️ Remember that if your dog doesn’t like being touched all of a sudden but was fine before then it’s advisable that you get a thorough vet check for pain as it’s more likely not a ‘training issue’.
❤️ and let me know below if you want to know more about consent or building dog’s confidence.

Jax’s owner was really struggling to walk him (in addition to him lunging towards other dogs) as he’s quite pully on the lead. 😩 She was right. When we got to the park Jax was pulling, or even lunging, A LOT towards whatever spot he wanted to sniff. Nearly 30kg of weight pulling you around and lunging is no easy task.
BUT look what was achieved in just a few minutes! And keep watching to see how we taught him to sniff on cue 🙌🏻
Here’s what we did in 4 easy steps:
1️⃣ Using ‘Look at me’ to get his focus back - waiting for eye contact rather than staring at treats (you can also place your hand behind your back for this)
2️⃣ Marking and treating when walking next to me.
3️⃣ Changing directions BEFORE he got to the end of the lead - we want to set him up for success, not failure. We want as much loose lead as possible so we can reward it
4️⃣ Walking on a loose-lead nicely > saying ‘Go sniff’ just before approaching a sniff spot. 😎
Watch till the end to see my reaction 😂
I took the second clip off his lead once he was walking better as I wasn’t worried about him knocking me off my feet anymore. The front clip of a harness gives you a lot more control in such situations as it turns the dog back towards you if they pull or lunge.
As he was pulling to sniff there was no point suppressing that behaviour - sniffing is needed and good for dogs. So we simply put it on cue! I don’t want him at my heel every second of the walk, that’d be an unrealistic goal and a pointless walk. I want him to sniff and enjoy himself.
Sniff spots are sometimes easy to predict - trees, lampposts, benches, bushes, grass spots - wherever you think other doggies might have peed, wherever your dog pulled towards before.
We both laughed at how well he’s done so quickly in just a few minutes 🙌🏻
& they haven’t had to resort back to using a face harness. 🙌🏻
Although it went really well in Jax’s first loose lead walking session
Any food beggars over here? 😁 It’s just a little joke but seriously, who cares? If you want to let your dog lick your plates after a meal you do that. If you don’t, teach them an alternative behaviour and give them something else to do. Rudy always settles when we ask him to during meal times but sometimes he might get lucky 🍗 🤭
He’s currently on a special diet and not allowed any treats he’d normally have so he’s trying extra hard to be sneaky 😆 👀
