A great day for my own mare today at some Stressage. 68% and 75% and two wins for us. Over the moon but welcoming a quiet few weeks now as we focus on fine tuning at home and enjoying hacking out in the (hopefully) warmer weather 😍🤩

🐣 HAPPY EASTER EVERYONE 🐣

This weekend has runaway with me. Hope everyone had a lovely time. I coached Good Friday and then had the weekend away from work and spent some much needed time with the family. We had our first BBQ of the year and then went to Kelmarsh Country Show yesterday. I also squeezed in a makeup for a friend going to a wedding (yes I’m a qualified MUA 🤩)

We saw Ben Atkinson with his liberty display in the main arena…. Wow he is impressive! Very inspiring.

Anyway Happy Easter enjoy the sunshine while we have it…. This is most likely our Summer 😂

‼️PRICE INCREASE ‼️

To all existing clients… I have gone back and forth with this decision for the last couple of weeks. I have unfortunately been left with no other choice but to increase my current prices with immediate effect. I have always prided myself on being affordable and good value for money and I know my prices are below the average versus other trainers in the area.

To breakdown, a single 45 minute session takes roughly 30 minutes of driving to get there sometimes less sometimes more. Then there’s the session itself which if you know me often over runs into an hour. Then there’s the additional 30 mins to drive back to my base, plus fuel on top of that journey. So once broken down one client takes two hours out of my schedule (unless I have others or travel straight from one client to the next) plus fuel, plus other expenses including insurance to freelance, renewing certificates ect, which actually puts me on an hourly wage less than minimum wage. With the fuel increase and shortage-which is making me have to travel further to even find Diesal something has had to give.

A 45 minute session whether coaching, lunging, riding or doing groundwork will increase to £30 for the session (£5 increase from current price)

I hope you all understand as this decision hasn’t been made lightly.

Thank you so much to everyone who attended the ‘Grids with a Grin’ clinic yesterday at Catesby Equestrian. We crammed lots in to each session with exercises in all three paces over the poles and then the last three groups working over the grid.

I’m such a firm believer in making sure that we have fun first and foremost and if we can make some improvement on the partnership and I can send you off with some bits to takeaway and work on, then I think I have accomplished my intention.

I haven’t confirmed a date or content of next clinic but keep an eye on any announcements. Following feedback I may look at offering some 1-1’s potentially on a midweek evening- I’ll have a think!

A great image of what happens to your horses balance and weight distribution if we rely to heavily on turning from the inside rein as shown in the image on the left. He loses balance and compensates through the outside shoulder. Image on the right shows a more balanced, evenly weighted horse across his limbs. The riders outside rein supports the outside shoulder with the riders inside leg on the girth to encourage inside bend through the turn.

Had a little help at the farm this week. Always a juggle when you have a young family and up until recently I timed mucking out around nap time but we’ve since dropped the second nap so timings aren’t working 😬 he doesn’t love the horses (which I’m totally okay with) but he definately loves making a mess and muddy puddles 💦 🐴

Fab day at Catesby despite the wet weather for my ‘Goal setting and confidence building clinic’. A complete mixed bunch of horses and backgrounds, from a cob, two ex racers, a hunter, an Irish mare, a Clydesdale and a 4 year old Connie. The biggest ‘ Well Done’ and ‘Congratulations’ to Sophie and Blu. They went out and did their first show jump comp last weekend and had a blast finishing 2nd and 4th. On top of this she has also been awarded sponsorship from King’s Castle Equestrian. Hard work always pays off and Sophie always puts in 110%, I’m so excited for this year with this special partnership, I may also have a soft spot for Blu 😍 keep going Soph 💪💪🔥

Hope you have all kept safe, warm and dry with all these storms we’ve had. My post ride on my chestnut after the last storm was a little spicey with the limited turnout I had to opt for 🤦🏻‍♀️

Some dates for you all, I have one space on my clinic at Catesby on the 2nd March, paired or individual. Cake and drinks included. The session will be light hearted, informative and confidence boosting. Pm me directly to book this slot.

6th-17th March I am unavailable but have slots commencing on the 18th and slots on the 19th March. Any current clients who recommend me to friend and they too book a slot will both receive 50% off their lesson. I cover Northamptonshire, Buckingham, Oxfordshire and Milton Keynes.

Hi everyone,

It’s been a busy few weeks leading up to Christmas and into January. January is my least favourite month from wet/cold weather to the anti climax after Christmas. However I’ve made sure this month to analyse last years goals and to then set new intentions both short and long term for the rest of the year. I even managed to get me and the ginger dragon to a dressage party 🏆

Fab day coaching…. You know you love what you do when you’ve been stood in the rain and wind all day and still finish absolutely buzzing. So proud of the small progress steps that will lead onto the bigger steps in the coming weeks. Any work is better than no work this time of year for the horses, it’s so hard with limited time, dark nights, facilities and awful weather to get much done at all let alone make progress. Huge well done to everyone today 💪🔥

Absolutely love this. It’s so easy to confine yourself to the arena session after session particularly in the Winter. Ground permitting I will definately make a more conscious effort to school away from the school over the next few months. I already incorporate some lateral work out hacking only for short periods but I find it keeps my mare supple without her realising we are working quite hard. I want to now do a little more in the field and if you don’t have access to fields that are suitable to ride in maybe do some exploring out hacking and find an appropriate spot 💪

Biggest congratulations to all four combinations that competed at the weekend. Ameyla and Lottie’s first ever dressage tests and Charlotte and Vic’s horses quite the opposite to each other but equally as tricky to ride. A first and a second and all scoring in the 60’s and 70’s. Onwards and upwards and here’s to the next one 🏵 🏆 🏅

⭐️ NO STIRRUP NOVEMBER CHALLENGE ⭐️


You’ve guessed it 1st November marks day one of no stirrup November. I am running a competition for all my new and current clients for whoever clocks up the most time in their lessons without stirrups. We will record the length over the entire month and the rider with the longest duration will receive a lesson at half the price to be taken in December.
It’s ultimately abit of fun but most importantly hugely beneficial for developing the independent seat! The competition is on 🏆
