IT’S BEEN A WHILE!

Nellie is well and truly part of the family now 🥰

Circumstances have changed and I’ve had to continue with my full time work at COVID test centres but I miss all your kittens and pooches!

With this in mind I’ve decided to try and run my business alongside working. I now work 4 days on, 4 days off so each week I will post the days I’m available for dog walking! Message me about pet pop-ins as I can usually still do these any day as long as you’re happy with early mornings and evenings ☺️

• COVID-19 UPDATE •

Due to the current pandemic and restrictions, I have had to take on a temporary job helping at a COVID-19 Test Centre.

Although it feels really good to be able to help in this crisis and is a relief for my bank balance, I can’t help but be disappointed that I can’t get stuck in to setting up my business and doing something I truly love.

I want to thank everyone for all your support so far, I’ve met some amazing people and animals already and I can’t wait to see you all again soon.

This isn’t goodbye, it’s see you later!

Lucy has been in shelter since a pup, she’s seen many of her friends leave to go to their forever homes but she seems to be overlooked (through no fault of her own).

One of my friend Mira’s rescue dogs, Mary, had a forever home lined up but due to the current pandemic the borders have been closed and we do not know when any of our dogs will be able to travel over to the UK.

Because of this, her adopter has withdrawn their offer of a home for this gorgeous girl simply because ‘they can’t wait that long’ 😭

I’m absolutely heartbroken for Mira and Mary. I’m shocked at just how selfish people can be and I’m really hoping we can all show them some love by sharing this in the hope that somebody else will want this little girl to join their family as soon as she can!

With everything going on nobody can be blamed for getting anxious, so here’s our smiley boy Finn to cheer you up ☺️

I just wanted to confirm that it’s business as usual for me! I’m following the governments hygiene guidelines, will minimise the amount of surfaces I touch in your home during visits and to be honest I spend more time around animals than humans anyway 😂

So with that, please do not hesitate to contact me if you need help looking after your fur babies!

Any existing clients, if circumstances change and you need to cancel or rearrange then I completely understand - please just let me know as soon as you can.

As I’ve previously said on here, I’m really passionate about animal welfare. All my lot are rescues and I also foster dogs too.

Flori's Friends Rescue - Reg Charity 1177365 is an incredible charity, working tirelessly to rescue animals in need. They are particularly close to my heart as without them we wouldn’t have Finn. Please go and have a nosey at their page and see the fantastic work they do!

The wind, rain, snow or this weird haily stuff doesn’t stop us from going on a long walk 🐾

Everybody meet Finn, our namesake.

We adopted Finn from Flori's Friends Rescue - Reg Charity 1177365 back in June 2018. He was found on the streets following people for help as he had a severely badly broken leg and damaged paw. My amazing friend Mira took him off the streets but unfortunately it was too late to save his leg. When we got him he still had a few stitches in from the amputation but he recovered really quickly and we’re just so proud of how resilient he is.

He may look like butter wouldn’t melt but adopting an ex street dog comes with a lot of challenges. He can be reactive and at some points I’ve just wanted to give up, but with perseverance and determination we are now really happy with our routine and let’s be honest you can’t give up on that smile!

If you have a rescue that can be a bit of a handful and therefore have put off getting a dog walker/ pet sitter then please know I’m always happy to help. I’ve been through it all and I promise I’d put as much love and patience into taking care of yours as much as I do mine.

• APRIL 2020 •

I’ve finally put my big girl pants on and decided to start up my own business doing something I love - working with animals! I will be offering Dog Walking, Pet Pop-Ins and Pet Sitting in Sleaford and surrounding villages.

Everybody that knows me knows that I’m completely obsessed with animals and have been pretty much all of my life. I’m a keen animal rights activist, I’ve been a vegetarian since the age of 10 and have recently become vegan.

I have a rescue dog (Finn, who the business is named after) and 4 rescue cats (Agnes, Olive, Brie and Frank) - I’ll introduce them all on here at some point I’m sure!

I now also foster rescue dogs - something I am incredibly passionate about and one of the reasons I’m starting this business as I will be able to do this around my job and ensure they have all the time and love that they need to then go off to their forever homes.

Over the years I’ve had lots of pets from hamsters to desert iguanas, dogs to hedgehogs and with all this experience in mind I’ve decided to set up Finn & Friends Pet Services.
