Happy Friday! The Nursing team wanted to share our “Fat Paws Slim” success story, this is Milo and he has been seeing our Nursing team since March to help him achieve his target weight and in November we were so proud to give him his certificate and toy for reaching his goal.
Milo’s parents have been so dedicated to his weight loss journey and have seen our nursing team every month, they have had him on a prescription diet to help ensure he has all the vital nutrition needed while aiding his weight loss.
Milo came to us weighing 7.3kg and now he is at the healthy weight of 3.5kg. Milo’s owners are so happy with the results and report he loves going out for walks now and is so much happier coming into Practice now he knows our nursing team.💕
Well done Milo and we’ll done to your amazing parents!!
If you are concerned about your pets weight please give us a call and our nursing team will be happy to help you and your pet.
Today we had Walter in for his comprehensive physical exam which is complimentary on the total wellness plan.
He had a full head to paw physical examination plus a bloods and urine test to rule out any underlying issues.
Walter felt a bit worried during his examination so he had some pet remedy spray used during the examination , his squeaky donut and cuddles from our VCA Mary.
If your pet has been part of the wellness plan for 6 months or longer , please call to book in or message via pets app 🩷🩶
🌟Willow’s Osteoarthritis journey🌟
Willow is ten years old today, so we thought it was the perfect time to share her story with you!
Willow belongs to our Head Nurse Emily, and during Willow’s Comprehensive Physical Exam as part of her Total Wellness Plan, Vet Cate had noticed some muscle loss over Willow’s right hip. Cate advised Emily that starting medication for osteoarthritis could really benefit, especially in these early stages.
Cate has prescribed a monthly injection called Librela, more information on this product, and a helpful checklist to go through for your senior pet can be found below.

This is a video clip showing Willow’s change over the first three months of her treatment, Willow seems more comfortable and enjoys her regular check ups with Team Harrison 💕
If you are worrying about your aging pet and want to discuss how you can help them throughout their senior years, please call and make an appointment with our Nursing team 💕
Harrison Family Vets achieves UK’s ‘Fear Free’ first, as our Reading clinic is the first to gain practice-level accreditation 🏅 outside the US following an assessment and inspection process. Our team spent several months working with the team at Fear Free to enable inspection and certification to take place in the UK and we now plan to secure official Fear Free status for all our clinics soon. 🐕🐈🐇
