Did you know that dogs have different blood types? 🐶🩸
Just like people, dogs have different blood types and they can either be DEA 1 positive or negative. Negative blood is in very high demand as this type can be given to any dog in an emergency, but it is also rarer with only 30% of dogs having it 😱
The charity needs more dogs who are likely to have the rarer negative blood type to come forward as donors and help them ensure this is always available for dogs who need it 🐩

is a charity that helps to save the lives of pets in need. It’s just like the human blood service, but for dogs! 🐶 They run donation sessions across the country where owners bring their much loved dogs to give blood.
Pet Blood Bank needs your help to ensure blood is always available 🙏 They are looking for large, happy, healthy, and confident dogs to come forward as blood donors to help save the lives of other dogs in need. To be a blood donor, your dog should be:

Ultrasound Practice!

While we routinely perform ultrasound scans as a diagnostic procedure, we believe that you can always learn more. Here vets Shriya and Gemma are practising their ultrasound skills on Gemma’s obliging labrador Cody. As a blood donor Cody is trained to lie on a table, and afterwards he gets lots of treats!

Feline fine!

Tigger visited us to get his second vaccines and a check over with nurse Hariane. As part of our pet health club he also gets all his flea and wormer for the year included! This means we can make sure he’s in the best health he can be.

Here are some of our regulars! Frankie loves to come for treats off our reception staff and runs in excited for her sweets, Chester however is more reluctant to come inside. Our receptionist Hannah ensures no one is left out and makes sure Chester gets plenty of treats and fuss too.

Ticked off!
Luna came into us after her owner found a tick attached under her chin. While ticks themselves are largely harmless, they can carry some very serious diseases and we advise removing them as soon as possible.

Aegon and Cirilla were in for their vaccines last week and got a full health check with vet Helen. They also got lots of fuss and attention in reception!

Joey popped into the practice and used his paw-cket money to pick up some much needed snacks! As I’m sure everyone knows, our receptionist Sue loves giving every pet who visits some love, cuddles and some treats. Joey was no exception.

Even if you don’t have an appointment we welcome every pet visiting us for some fuss and treats to ensure not every visit is a scary one.

Kyma was in this week for some socialisation to get used to coming to the vets! We welcome anyone who just wants to pop in to say hi and get their dog used to being in the building. We always welcome them with lots of cuddles and treats!

Ralphie came to us for his regular allergy injection, and as you can see he loves coming! All he asks is that before he gets his injection you provide lots of tummy tickles! Our nurses were happy to help!

Jax was in with us after pulling his nail. Our nurses decided that while none of Jax’s friends could use a pen with their paws to sign his new dressing that they would help Jax with some bandage art!
