Babybel we had the privilege of looking after you for 7 years.
Funny, sassy and sweet loving girl.
You overcame so much and made me so so proud of all the progress you made.
We conquered traffic and scary bin lorries and did it all at a rate that you was comfortable with.
Only took us 4 years but we finally got you walking with other dogs and Koda loved his time with you.
You taught him not to be scared of big dogs and was so gentle and patient with him.

You was the best big sister to your little human who you loved and protected.
You made me so proud everyday and I cannot thank your humans enough for allowing us to be part of your life.

It always hurts so much when we have to say goodbye to clients dogs who we’ve loved like our own but this one cuts deep 💔.
Will miss that lion roar of yours that shook the room.

Thinking of your family at this devastating time.

GDV information! We have had so many questions on bloat since Daphne had it on Sunday morning - it’s the nightmare all large breed owners dread!
Here are some of the basics you need to know!

Gastric dilatation volvulus GDV or known more commonly as bloat due to the obvious physical appearance of dogs who have it (also known as gastric dilation, twisted stomach, or gastric torsion) is a medical condition that can affect all dogs.
Mostly large, deep chested breeds are affected but bloat can appear in any breed!

The most common initial symptoms are -
Bloated/swollen hollow sounding stomach
restlessness and pacing
painful abdomen.
overall look of distress
retching or attempts to vomit
excessive drooling
panting/rapid breathing

Bloat develops quickly and without warning and It is always an emergency!

There is an operation that can be performed if you identify bloat fast and immediately take them to your vet.

One of the main identified causes of bloat is exercising your dog after eating. We are really strict with our dogs and they are never allowed exercise an hour before or an hour after feeding time.

There are some conflicting opinions on the causes of bloat but the most commonly accepted are -
eating very quickly and overeating
drinking lots of water
raised food bowls
stress (anxious dogs are thought to be more affected)
exercising after eating
genetic factors
increased age

We have had lots of owners contact us who have sadly lost their dogs to bloat asking us to raise awareness for other owners to spot the early signs so I really hope this helps!

At the end of June we had 3 fabulous weeks with the wonderful Sunny. Such a funny sassy girl that would stop every 2 seconds and refuse to walk. We worked on those issues and her owners are so please with the change and improvement of her behaviour when she’s out on walks. Well done Sunny ❤️🐕‍🦺

Hi everyone

This is a long one so apologies 😬.

So I’ve been battling with Fibromyalgia for the past 7 years and a year ago I was diagnosed with Rheumatoid arthritis.
A year ago they tried to put me on treatment and I’ve refused for a whole year. But the past 2 months have been pretty painful.
I saw my consultant again at Bedford hospital In May and last week I took my first dose.
Im on methotrexate which is a chemotherapy drug.
Anyone that knows me knows how against I am putting this into my system, as much as it kills the bad it also suppresses the good and leaves your immune system pretty weak and vulnerable.

Unfortunately I haven’t reacted very well with the treatment. 😭
I keep being sick, upset stomach, severe stomach cramps, fatigue, headaches.
I managed to leave the house earlier to walk my dog for 20 mins with a friend and I’m wiped out again.
I have to increase my dose every 2 weeks and go for blood tests every 2 weeks for 10 weeks then every month for 3 months then once a month after that.
I don’t know how I’m going to feel from one minute to the next and I don’t want to mess anyone around with whether I’ll be there or not as it could take some time to get used to it.

So I have made the heartbreaking decision to temporarily close the business down and have full focus on my health and treatment for the time being.

Anyone that is needing a walker then I highly recommend Alex at Adventure fur ever.
He looks after my own dogs and is amazing with them and they absolutely love him, if I trust him with mine then I’m happy to recommend him.

I thank each and everyone of you so much for your support and loyalty for the last 8 years.
Thank you for allowing me to look after your fur babies.
Thank you for all the tags and recommendations.
I’ve loved every second of my time with them all and will miss them dearly.
So for now I ask that you don’t tag me in any posts for dog walking nor recommend me.

This isn’t goodbye it’s see you all soon x ❤️🐶
