I’m back off holiday, but at my dad’s (stepdad, but what’s in a title?) funeral today. Currently writing this in the car on the way to say goodbye, whilst Mr Dazzlerz drives.

To say my heart needs to heal and my head has been up my arse recently, would be an understatement.

I took voluntary redundancy from my second job a few weeks ago, so have a little time to give back to my business now.

I think I’ve replied to all messages, but if I haven’t, please remind me - and please don’t take it personally! Some days I don’t know what day it is, let alone keeping track of messages!

Once my head is screwed on right, I’ll be offering *Emmipet* teeth cleaning, which is dead good at maintaining your dogs oral hygiene, but not a replacement for vet dentals. I’ve completed my Oral Health Hygiene qualification, the toothbrush kit has arrived (still in its box!🤦🏻‍♀️) and I’m going to try it out on Ziva dog before I am ready to go! (I’m marvellous at selling this aren’t I?! I should do a side line in marketing.🫠🤦🏻‍♀️🤷🏻‍♀️)

Also, once my head is pointing in the right direction, I will open up my diary for next years grooms, I know a few people are on my list to book in (Nic, I promise I haven’t forgotten!😍)

Sorry for rambling, I’m trying to deliver all the information I need since my brain is struggling to keep up!

Ooh! All booked grooms are on from tomorrow, I’ll try to remember to send reminders later today if I’m in any fit state. 🤞

Appointments cancelled within 24 hours of the appointment time, are still chargeable. No further appointments will be offered until full payment has been made for the cancelled appointment. This policy is in my terms and conditions and has been since I opened, almost 7 years ago. If this isn’t acceptable for you, then I wish you luck in finding an alternative groomer.

This business is my sole source of income, and pays my bills.

I’ve been lucky my whole life to have 2, well, technically, 3 sets of parents (it’s complicated, and I’ll tell you all about it one day).

Sadly, we lost my dad of 38+ years, (my stepdad), on Friday morning. We are heartbroken as you can imagine.

Because of this, I might have to rearrange a couple of appointments through September - I know some have already been rearranged due to our family holiday coming up, but I will hopefully know more and be able to tell those affected sometime early this coming week.

Appointments this week will be going ahead as usual - keeping occupied helps.

It’s all a bit sudden so please, I’m ok if no one asks me if I’m ok.

It’s actually quite disturbing how often I think or other people’s dogs. Which is All the time. 😂🫠🥰

Well I may be 62 but I feel 20 years younger now after going from 236 to 141 all after finding this little-known “Exotic Rice Method” …

I was having dinner with my friend Jen when she told me about a video she came across while scrolling.

That’s how she found out about this “rice method” that only takes 10 seconds in her morning routine.

I didn’t really believe her at first. But she was gushing about it and I couldn’t argue with her transformation.

She looked amazing by the way. I mean, Jen definitely didn’t look like this before…

So I figured ok I might as well try it.

I mean, I tried so many different things over the years. At least this “rice method” was very simple and easy to fit in to my routine.

Well let me tell you, just this morning I was trying on a swimsuit that I haven’t even dared to LOOK at in years…

I feel like I did in my 30s. That kind of playful, happy me, without a care in the world.

I thought that old me was gone forever…

If you watch the video, you’ll see what I mean. This “rice method" isn’t about exercising or watching everything I eat.

It’s much simpler than that. And it works for me, that’s the main thing!~

I’m just hoping Jen will see this when she’s scrolling, because I want to say the biggest THANK YOU to her for sharing it with me.

I will shortly be completing iPET Network’s Ofqual regulated Level 3 Award in Canine Oral Hygiene which means, I’ll be able to offer preventative teeth cleaning for your doggies!!!! 🥳🤩😬🦷🪥

I’ve been asked a few times and toyed with the idea, but I’m hoping to dedicate one day a week to just teeth cleaning - so our regular grooming appointments don’t exhaust our pups too much, and it will be a different experience when they visit.

I’ll be investing in an Emmipet toothbrush, which uses ultrasonic technology combined with a specially formulated tooth paste, to break down the plaque build up on the teeth.

This doesn’t replace the need for Dogtor visits in certain situations, it’s simply a preventative - like us brushing our teeth, it doesn’t stop us needing to see the dentist every now n then!

I’ve always said I can’t sell something I don’t 100% know works, but after speaking to my vet, and other professionals who already use it, it’s something I believe can help clients in the long run! 😍🥰

My diary will soon be sorted - as soon as I know how long appointments need to be, I’ll take bookings!🥳 🦷

Reverse sneezing!

One or two of our doggos do this after a groom, usually because they’ve pulled the lead towards parents on collection🤦🏻‍♀️🤷🏻‍♀️😂

Have a watch and know it really isn’t anything to worry about, and an easy fix is to cover a nostril for 10/30 seconds. Personally, I wouldn’t do any throat massaging, but the nostril thing works! 💖

Appointment cancellations : On Thursday I was admitted to Whiston hospital for emergency surgery (Again!). Part of my bowel was twisted and looped around where my appendix had been removed from in 2019, and this section of bowel has subsequently become necrotic, so it’s been removed. The surgery I’ve had this time has left me with a large abdominal incision so I will be longer in recovery. I hate to do this, but have no option but to cancel appointments for January and February.
I do have a wonderful groomer friend who has availability and has offered to help me out - and keep our doggos comfortable whilst I’m out of action. If you would like to call Shelly Louise Campbell to arrange an appointment for around the time that I should be grooming your doggo, that would mean all future grooms

I’m currently in a lot of pain relief but need to get messages to people who are booked in - I will be in hospital until at least next weekend, but my discharge dates are unknown at the moment.

I had emergency surgery this afternoon and it’s quite extensive (40%of my bowel removed) so recovery may be a while.

I will never get over how much it hurts to lose the Bestest Good Boy.

Your dogs come to see me a handful of times a year, but that’s enough to get to know their funny quirks, their personalities, where their tickle spots are, and roughly how long they’ll give you to clip their nails before they get fidgety.

But when they go, I can’t imagine the heartbreak owners go through, if their short time with me leaves me in bits.

Sweet dreams to my beautiful Charlie Bear. You will always be my favourite, biggest, bestest boy. I’m not even sorry for the bias. I’m sorry he’s no longer here, but I’m grateful he let me into his wonderful life.

I’ll find you again one day and give you the biggest smushiest loves.

And big loves to your family. You have left a huge hairy hole in those hearts. 💔🌈

After paying a friend to groom her at the start of august, the Z dog was getting a bit stinky and I thought I’d best groom her myself this time!🤦🏻‍♀️ Shelly did a way better job than me, but at least she’s clean, and short so I won’t need to do her again for a bit😂🎉 😂🤦🏻‍♀️🤷🏻‍♀️
