Just a message to all my clients. Unfortunately I have tested positive for Covid. I will be taking today off to recover. Possibly the rest of the week too. It's hard to say atm. I am sorry for the inconvenience. It's not an easy decision to take as I know so many rely on me but unfortunately I am not well enough.

I will message all clients effected individually at a suitable hour. I just thought some of you may see this first and be able to make alternative arrangements.

Selling my trusty transk9 b30 crate as I've upgraded to a van. If anyone's interested let me know.

Trans k9 B30 (2020 model of the now c30)

Used in a 2012 Passat estate. Will fit other models.

Happily fits 2 large breed dogs.

3 keys. All locks working.

Rear escape hatch.

Crate, hinges and doors in great condition.

Middle divider did have some damage but has been fixed and works just fine and stays in place securely.

Locator holes for divider have some wear but I have used washers and is not an issue.

Selling due to changing vehicles to a van.

Fully cleaned and disinfected with pet safe dettol.

There's reports of a nasty stomach bug going around. If your dog has any symptoms please let me know asap. This bug is super contagious so they will need remain at home while they recover. Please note where you have walked recently and stay away from that area too.

Dangerously hot today and tomorrow!

Dogs will be monitored on walks, Play will be reduced. Duration is also likely to be shortened depending how we are all coping.

Afternoon walks are cancelled today and tomorrow. Unfortunately I can't control the weather, If I could it would be snowing everyday!

Remember cancellations happen for the safety of your dog. Each client will be contacted individually with the plan for each day.

Next week isn't looking too good for me and your dogs temperature wise. I'll assess each day but there maybe some cancellations unfortunately as the welfare and safety of your dogs always comes first. If home visits are required these will be 10-15 minutes charged at 50% of your normal rate - Unfortunately I may have lots of dogs to see and I still have costs to cover. Lets hope for a cooler week than the forecast!

As conditions become warmer, we have some good advice for keeping pets safe and healthy;

Do keep your dog indoors
Do make sure your dog has plenty of access to shade if outdoors
Do make sure there is plenty of fresh water available for your pet
Don’t take your pet out between 11am and 6pm on hot days
Do take your pet for a walk very early morning or very late evening when the sun has gone down in cooler temperatures
If your pet is older, overweight or brachycephalic take extra care on very hot days it may still be too warm early morning or late evening to take them out without risking heat stroke
If your pet is brachycephalic take extra care that they don’t overheat in warm weather, it doesn’t need to be a very hot day for a brachycephalic pet to get heat stroke out in the sun
Make sure the pavement/ground surface you’re walking your dog on is not too hot for your pet – don’t forget they don’t wear shoes!
Do play with your pet indoors and use interactive toys to keep them mentally stimulated
Never leave your pet in a car in hot weather in any situation

Mini tennis balls.

Another reason I am not a fan of balls for dogs. These mini ones are extremely dangerous for larger dogs. They can be easily swallowed and potentially choke a dog or get stuck in the gut and cause a fatal blockage.

If you are going to use these. Please be responsible and take them home with you.

My dog and a clients dog have both swallowed them. Luckily we got to the vets quick enough to have a vomit inducing injection to throw them up. It could of been alot worse.

Another reason to STOP throwing a ball for your dog. Nothing good comes from it!

Step One: Take your dog's word for it.

There is a lot that behavior modification, deep understanding of a dog's social, physical and mental needs can do. There is a lot I can teach a guardian or a dog that can navigate complex, difficult situations. There is a lot I can do to help ease aggression symptoms and reroute the function of aggressive behavior. But the first step is taking the dog's word for it when they tell you they don't like something, or something makes them uncomfortable. Believe your dog.
