When you love dogs and see one, you go all ga ga over that dog, hug him, cuddle him, smother him with kisses but is that dog really comfortable with all that? You invading his personal space? Some dogs maybe okay and some may not. Below are some of the safe places where you can pet a dog. But even before that, first check with the handler if it's okay to pet his dog and then you need to check if the dog is okay with any touch at all. Simple way to do this is to allow the dog to sniff your hand, if the dog backs out, please respect his decision and give him his space. But if the dog approaches you, go ahead and pet at the below mentioned places :)

Many leave the city during Diwali to escape the pollution that further worsens the already bad air quality. It would be a prudent thing to have a name tag with your contact details for your dog..... especially during this Diwali season.

Diwali Tip – A frightened and confused dog can associate the sound of firecrackers with the indoors and may attempt to get out of the house to escape the noise. Do not ignore the fact that this can happen to your dog. Play it safe by attaching an I.D tag to your dog’s collar containing your current phone number and address. If your dog happens to run away, the information on him will greatly increase your chances of getting him back.

Diwali Tip: Try not to react to the fireworks yourself. If you jump or tense up when you hear fireworks because you are anticipating your dog's fear, you may make his fear worse. Your body language can tell a dog that there is a reason to be afraid.

Of late people have been more open to adopting a dog, but there is a way to go about this process. Temperament testing of a puppy is crucial so that it gets adopted in an appropriate family. It might be a good idea to get a Behaviorist and trainer involved so the transition into the forever home can be smooth.

We want special screening for Dogs in India too..... I remember my mom would say they had an Indie in Goa when she was very very young. Whenever they went for movies my nana ji would take him too! He was not allowed to enter the screening Hall by the guard and then my grandpa would leave him with the guard & say stop him if you can. And Moti being Moti, would sneak into the cinema hall and find his family 🤗🤗

Can you teach an old dog new tricks? Yes! You most definitely can. We had gone to train this 6y/o munchkin's grand pup and look in just about a quarter session she learned to stand and walk. Training helps you build a bond with your dog, stimulates them. Now, Cookie eagerly waits with her grand pup for my sessions!

Here, when this adorable pup was thinking of breaking the 'Leave it' command, engages him in 'Watch me'. And look at his full attention on her, the food on the floor is long forgotten!

Training your dog not only helps in having a well behaved dog but also helps in creating bond with your dog which is so essential. Plus it gives the dog mental stimulation alongwith physical. Training doesn't mean you get your dog to do things for hours together. 10-15 min whenever you have time can help both the dog and you 😊
