Why, you might ask? Well, not every imported dog can seamlessly enter the WUSV (World Union of German Shepherd Dog Associations) studbook. The WUSV standards have become globally unified, ensuring that the breed's authenticity and quality are preserved worldwide.

By importing a dog that cannot qualify for the WUSV studbook abroad, it won't qualify here either. The GSD studbook is now a global entity and dogs that meet its stringent criteria become part of an esteemed lineage. We understand the excitement that comes with welcoming new dogs into our families, but let's ensure these dogs align with the WUSV standards.

With the implementation of the WUSV harmonisation program, some countries are unfortunately exporting dogs that don't meet the rigorous standards set by the WUSV. These dogs, often described as "half-baked," are finding their way into unsuspecting countries and individuals. It's crucial for us all to be vigilant and discerning. Seek guidance from GSDBA, our experts are here to assist, educate, and guide you in making the right choices.
