Kia ora whānau, with flu season well underway, our final workshop in the Puketāpapa Grow Series has been rescheduled to next month.

Ngā mihi to the Puketāpapa Local Board for supporting us to host the epic Puketāpapa Grow Series.

Today we had Whenua Warrior having a mean kōrero and workshop on natural rhythms, and building a Tāpapa for our community to start seeding kūmara.

Appreciate the turnout and engagement on this kaupapa, even had our Local Park Ranger from Auckland Council involved 😀

We had some visitors come and volunteer to help us move Mulch and plant a lavender hedge!🪻 Arohanui to Bunnings Warehouse New Zealand Mt Roskill for the donated seedlings! 🪻🌿

Another fantastic working bee! 🐝 Thanks to everyone who came along! We are so thankful that NZ Ethnic Women's Trust has created this space for community to connect and share together in the garden! Together, we;

🥔 Planted Taro in the food forest
✨️ Built the world's biggest compost pile
☕️ Shared delicious ethnic food and tea
🌼 Prepared the greenhouse for seasons plantings

Special thanks to Suveen Sanis Walgampola for helping us promo the event, Regeneration Army crew for pulling up with the tools and skills, and Etū Rākau for bring native trees and our favorite beats! Plus of course Auckland Council and Puketāpapa Local Board for enabling us to practice our kaitiakitanga here at John Greene reserve!
