Some more introductions are in order!
Introducing Moe, Dobby and Meadow! ❤️

These 3 have been coming for ages now and are all settled and happy with their pack day mates.
Dobby and Meadow come along on Thursdays too!

Moe is just a very happy and content boy with no worries going on in his life, such a joy to have.
Dobby didn’t cope so well in his previous daycare environment (not all dogs like daycare) so we’ve been working on his arousal levels ensuring he’s feeling good and calm while others play. He’s come so far, an absolute champ and is very popular since he’s calmed his farm a bit!
Meadow has fit in really well, she’s a busy girl, always doing something! After a good walk though all she wants to do is sleep in the sun and doesn’t do anything else 😂❤️

🙅‍♀️"It"s not a problem" ....until it is.🤷‍♀️

🏝 As holiday season is approaching quick & fast, some things that should be considered long before you decide to go away without your dog.

💓 Use a crate or Kennel at home! Get them used to being confined. "I don't want to crate them, they're fine at home" doesn't help when you're having them board somewhere & they're not used to it. Confinement & kennel stress is drastically reduced if a dog knows what it is & how to handle periodic confinement.

🏘 Boarding - If your dog is boarding somewhere, get them used to the place well AHEAD of time to reduce kennel stress. Familiarity helps a lot especially if the length of the stay is quite long.

🏡 In home boarding - If possible, get the person who will be looking after your dog/s to stay multiple times before you leave so that your dog is comfortable with them & they can get to know your dog's routine. This is a much better option for older dogs.

🐾 Food - Make sure your dog has MORE food than they need, incase there is an emergency where your trip may have flight delays, road blockages etc.

💅 Grooming - If you have a long haired dog, please for the pain of knots, sores, infections, get your dog groomed BEFORE their stay. If clipped, get them clipped shorter than usual to help carers easily maintain them while you are away.

🙌 Handling - Can your dog be handled to be groomed, leashed, checked over, or if needed to be transported in case of injury? This can all be started at home so your dog is used to it.

☎️ Make sure your emergency contacts are up to date, that they are aware of who is looking after your dog & where. Make sure you give these contacts to whoever is looking after your dog also, so they know who has authority to collect them for safety reasons.

🏥 Medications! Make sure your dog has MORE than the amount of medication required incase you are delayed getting home. Having a vet check prior to your dog boarding or having someone look after them, gives you peace of mind that they are well. Sneaky things like ear infections, can easily be missed, so double check just to be sure.

📷 Daisy the phantom poodle has been with us weekly since a puppy. She recently just went home after boarding for a month while her owners had a family trip overseas. She was a pleasure to have. Slept soundly in her crate, happy on her walks, was easy to groom, happy playing with her friends & hogging the pool.

We’d like to officially welcome the Frugs Tank and Dozer to our Friday Pack!
They’ve been coming along for a few months now and they’ve been super awesome!
They walk with the 🔥Pram Gang🔥 (baby stroller) as they’re not as fit as the other dogs and given their breed we need to keep an eye on their breathing especially as the days are warming up! The 🔥Pram Gang🔥 caters for the old, slow, injured or those needing some 1:1 time to work on their leash skills.
These two are the class clowns and they’re an absolute pleasure to have! 🐾

Rest in peace Karta ❤️🕊️

Yesterday we said good bye to a very special boy, my mums dog Karta. Karta has been coming along with us for years now and has been a wonderful friend and mentor for our Friday Pack. He’s met and loved all the other dogs who come along on the other pack days too and was overall a very popular dude.
Karta was the equivalent to Clifford the big red dog, Karta loved life, people, dogs, cats and any critter he ever came across. Kartas only worry in life was when dinner and breakfast would be served and whether or not he’d be lucky to get some lunch too.

Thank you Karta for everything you’ve done for our family and your dog friends, your mission is now complete and I’m sure you’ve been rewarded with a food bowl that never runs out and fields to run in with your friends.

Thank you Tee Gee for choosing my mum to look after and love your boy and thank you mum Jacqui Booth for loving and being Karta’s best friend ❤️

Love and miss you always big dog ❤️

Some new (ish) faces to join Matt’s Pack!

Mr Womble (started with us at the start of the year) he’s a funny wee guy and an absolute pleasure to have with us.
Juno the Boxer, Grace the Bulldog and Harry the Cavoodle x Lowchen all from the same property - these 3 are a force to be reckoned with and have fit in so well with the gang! ❤️

Hanging out with these two Frugs (Frenchie x Pugs) Tank and Dozer this afternoon! Working on leash skills, reactivity, and a bit of socialising with dogs too, these guys are some cool dudes 😎

We’ve recently welcomed Gus (first pic) to our Tuesday and Thursday pack, he’s such an awesome dog and a great addition to the team!
Gus was having a bit of trouble at the daycare he was in, he displayed and learned some not so social manners and behaviours do we’ve been busy teaching him how to make friends properly and how to read cues when dogs don’t want to play.
He has fit in perfectly now that he has a bit more knowledge up his sleeve 👏🏼

Afternoon social sessions with Meadow 💙
We’ve known Meadow for many many years now, the other two dogs in her family have been a part of our pack days for years now too so we’re working up to Meadow joining us as well!

Working on all the things that’ll make her a superstar when it comes to pack days. She’s a very sweet girl who’ll get it in no time 😊

Better get introducing some of the dogs coming along for training sessions/those who have started pack days in the past 5 months 😅

This is Ruby! Her family needed some help to try and manage and work on a few things, especially her overexcitement when it comes to everything 😂
She will be joining our pack day soon so our training sessions have been based on working on the things her family are working on at home as well as getting a nice loose leash walk so she’s has some knowledge and is comfortable when she joins our pack walks. She’s great with the dogs she has met so far, looking forward to having her start sometime soon! 🐾

🤔 Who's coaching who?
🤔 Who's saying what?
🤔 Who needs a rest?
🤔 Who's stressed & needs more space but keeps getting bugged by the youngest who wants to just keep playing?
🤔 Who's sore or old & doesn't have the energy they used to have?
🤔 Who's young & needs to be told to have a break because they overadrenalize & bug too much that someone else is gonna tell them off in a potentially not great way?
🤷‍♀️ Who's actually monitoring your dogs & providing feedback to prevent negative interactions or injuries or worse?

🐶🐶 If you own 2 or more dogs, someone needs to supervise. Because if you aren't there to provide feedback they will be dogs & coach themselves. Too many times have we had to coach people through overadrenalized & unsupervised interactions, with unnecessary outcomes because noone was watching what was going on & recognizing when enough was enough.

🤷‍♀️"My dogs have always been out together when we're not home & there's never been a problem".
Well that's great for your dogs. Hope for the best.

😭 "They've always gotten along. I don't understand why they had a fight"....(cue annoying young dog that just wants to keep on going & other dogs have had enough.)

🤔 "My dog is limping & the other 1s have scratches all over them"....(cue vet bill & potentially on going issues).

It's all fine til it's not. Pick your hardness.
😶 Vet bill?
😶 Long term injuries?
😶 Wrecked relationships between your dogs?
😶 Stress on your relationship?

🐶 Your dog/s are just being dogs because they have noone providing accurate feedback.

🤷‍♀️ Separate when unsupervised or be content with the risk.

We said goodbye to Kev and Fudge yesterday as they’re off to live over the ditch! 🦘
It was an absolute PLEASURE having you both be a part of Matt’s Pack. You’ve both come such a long way in the last couple of years we’ve known you and we’re excited for all your new adventures.
To Kev and Fudge’s family, thank you for being so awesome and hardworking when it comes to these two, it’s been really wonderful seeing you guys grow as owners too, Kev and Fudge are so lucky to have you. Will miss you guys so much! All the best and keep in touch ❤️

We’ve recently welcomed Maxine (first pic) to our pack days to help build her confidence around other dogs. She’s exceeded our expectations truely and enjoys lounging around with the others - the Wednesday Pack have been awesome with her!
We keep the environment calm, play to a certain level and we advocate for anyone who needs it which proves really helpful for dogs like Maxine and dogs in general 💛

Long time no see everyone!
We’ve been busy with a baby and running Matt’s Pack but Matt has finally picked up the camera so you’ll be seeing more of our pack day dogs now!
Our nice and small Monday crew enjoyed a nice walk before they had a well deserved nap and a cool off in the pools and shade 🌿☀️
