Scanning for a microchip is a service that anyone & everyone can have done in New Zealand anywhere for FREE!

Microchipping technology has been available & even legally required by some councils to have for long enough now for everyone to know they exist.

Had this cat not even been checked for 5 years if it had a family before being claimed into a new one?

Horrible situation for all involved. Hopefully more info to this story will come soon to make sense of how this heartbreaking mistake has even happened to help avoid happeneing to anyone else in the future ;(

Please don't let this dishearten anyone re: the importance of microchipping & regestering your fur family members. This is crucial in so many more ways than one.

Goodluck to all involved with this stunning kitty, I can see how so many hearts have been touched by this wee sweetheart & hope whatever the outcome ,this kitty's life will continue to be filled with lots of love :)

Sue Quigley says she is heartbroken that she won’t be reunited with her cat Muffin, who turned up after five years missing, despite her name being on its microchip.

After 2 hours of the most cheeky missing maincoon/ragdoll cross Bear running circles around us in a backyard of a linden property we got him! He has now been reunited with his massively greatful family that have been worried sick about him since he escaped their vehicle while stopped breifly in Pauatahanui, from their travel via transmission gully

Photo below of the very cheeky boy himself back in the arms of his owners.

Unfortunately Bears microchip has failed, not the first time we've seen this this week alone! Sadly it's happening nearly every 10 or so chip scans we've done of late so please we urge everyone to remember to get their chips scanned now & then to ensure still functioning to prevent any delays reuniting should they become lost or sadder- victims to the roads & never being able to get the closure.

We are happy to check your cats chips for your peace of mind , as will any other halo scanner holders or vets also. It's so important. Take a moment to log onto NZCAR to ensure your pets contact details are up to date, this is also way too often the case also & causes massive delays reuniting, some never to be found 😞

Thankyou to everyone involved today in making Bears reuniting possible, he may have never made it home without your help. 🙂

Thankyou from kelly & Laura Found-a-Feline Cat Rescues

This has to be the most funny rescue ever in all my time! Makes for a nice change to be laughing our arses off instead of holding back tears!

Mr Bear escaped the familys vehicle on transmission gully over the weekend & we have managed to track him down in linden, tawa - transmission gully area thanks to the lovley people posting about his appearance suddenly at their home.

Bear litrally has all of us trying to capture him in fits as he prances around back n forth like an excited dog soon as we get near him.

He is clearly not ready to go home yet mum, he's having way to much of a ball! Hahahahaha

Update: this beautiful girl has now been reunited with her family after being missing for 7 long months!

Hi, my family sadly haven't kept my microchip details up to date so I've had nowhere to go when got a bit lost, I met some lovely people that have kindly let me stay with them for the past month & they put flyers up with my face on everywhere near by but my owners still haven't come forward for me :( im starting to think that maby they didn't want me anymore.. ?? my microchip says I'm originally from Berhampore, Wellington & I am 4 years old, - no name. Just some strange numbers instead & despite having 2 contacts on my microchip not 1 of them are in service any longer :( maby my family shifted away & forgot to update my details , I'm pretty certain they will know I've not been around for about a month now- surely.. can you please help me by sharing my sweet face far & wide just incase there is a reasonable explanation for them not looking for me.. I really hope I'm still loved... I promise I'll be good if you want me back :(

P.s
-yes spca have been asked if any more info from adoption & only have what we already know

-yes her chip number has been sent out to vets with nothing come back sadly, she is healthy so may have never had need to visit a vet since adopted.

Anyone recognise this big handsome desexed fella? He has a microchip, implanted in 2021 with details that no longer exist at all sadly. He was registered under a Miramar address but found in Tawa area so possibly shifted in this time.
Not even a name has been recorded for this big softee on the register, hoping someone is missing him & not realise their details are well out of date..

Please everyone take a moment to check online that your fur family's microchip details are all up to date so this doesn't happen to them one day please. https://www.animalregister.co.nz/

Hello Hello everyone, Laura here, I just wanted to take a minute (which atm is almost impossible to find) to appoligise to all those that have tried to contact us to meet our kittens recently. I have been dealing with the loss of my way to young mother who lost her brave fight to a rare cervical cancer mid March, although we knew she was a gift to have every day once she was diagnosed it still came as such a shock to lose her & needless to say this has & will continue to have a huge impact on my everyday life. My mum was one of the kindest most trustworthy woman I've had in my life (right up there with my super appeciated right hand gal Kelly) & I she will forever be missed & on my mind. :(

Things have been extremely busy here with Kelly being away sorting her self out for a big shift into a smaller new home & with many of our kitty's that were in Foster care having to come back to us as they approached risk of getting littermates pregnant whilest on the ever so long wait for desex appointments so it really has been hard times.

We have been let down this year sadly with some fosters & with recent closures of other rescues in the area, we have been all totally overrun. My mobile phone has taken a fall with me after i litrally collapsed with exaustion recently so it is very tempermental atm & litrally just waiting for it to be unusable before i can afford to replace it as every single cent has been put into feeding our current large tribe.

I want to ask that people please be patient with us as i assure you all, time is something in rescue we really struggle to have let alone throwing unexpected hurdles in ontop, we are litrally running on hope & dreams of the light at the end of the tunnel atm so please try to be considerate of what being involced in rescue life is really like for us. We dont want to say no to anyone, we want to be yes pepple for these kittys in need but unfortunatly its something we cant make as a promise at this point in time.but please know your messages have not been ignored or forgotten , we just litralyl have hundreds more messages ahead & behind yours aswell we still struggling to find time to respond to.. but we will, soon as we can find the time. :)

Please feel free to message us again re: meeting our kittys as we are finally able to start getting thru the list we have & have spaces available tonight for those serious in adding a new member to their familys. :)

Below is some of our current rescue babies winding down after a crazy bouncing of the walls hour , never a dull moment i tell ya!

Please if your able & want to help us raise these babies into amazing adoptable family members we are always struggling to get by & both take food of our own tables to ensure they are all fed up, happy & thriving. :)

UPDATE ON WEE FERN:

A huge thankyou to everyone's well wishes & the amazing generous donations given towards helping wee Fern this week.

Fern, who is a usually full of life very active wee girl was found sitting like what I described as like a kangaroo with her front all tucked in under her & her rear appeared to be larger than the front. When I picked her up to check on her I found she had almost a full golf ball sized lump between her back left leg , given that she weighs a tiny 500grams, something the size of a golf ball was extremely alarming on hertiny wee body.

Off to the vets we went where she started to become very lethargic laying upside down in my arms in the waiting room. The vet checked her over & took her out the back to get a colleges thoughts on this massive fluid filled lump pushing her wee leg up & forward clearly very painfully.as I waited I had a wee cry for her & the pain she was feeling & the temperature she was running showed it clearly.

The wonderful vet finally came back into the room where I was waiting & handed Fern wrapped in her blanket back to me trembling & explained she had 1 of the most substantial absess she had seen on a wee kitten!

We believe wee Fern, from a large litter of 7 mostly male siblings & 1 rather aggressive playing sister had been injured at some stage playing & her wee body had caused this to happen to protect itself from the injury.
As the vets drained the thick pus filled lump she growled & cried & was not very happy but I can bet she feels so much better with it burst now than how stiff & painful it was before hand. Unfortunately wee Fern has now had to be kept separate from her rough play siblings & mum & given antibiotics twice a day for 10 days & regular through saline rinse outs of the wound. The hole left now is huge & open supsectpitable to infection so keeping her in the cleanest space away from harm is crucial.

Today she up playing with her toys & being more like a kitten again tho still walking with bit of a limp & looking not so great with some of her fur shaven lol.

I have added a link below to our my drive folder of photos of ferns injury for those of you that don't have a weak stomach as it's not the nicest thing to see but also quite mind blowing seeing what a wee claw scratch can so quickly turn into. We expect Fern to make a full recovery & look forward to getting her back with her siblings & mumma soon as possible..

Fingers crossed we won't have any further complications but we are working around the clock to ensure we minimize any risks of that happening. :)

💥💥URGENT HELP💥💥
Wee 6 week old Fern is at the vets with an emergency appointment after becoming unwell and showing signs of pain and discomfort.

We have found a build up of fluid between her wee legs. She is in immense pain and we already know this vet bill is likely to be high.

We urgently need funds to cover the cost of her treatment as our funds are so low already. If we cant get enough funds together we will be having to cancel some of our upcoming desexing appointments, which we are already at risk of doing due to the struggle of funds..

Please please please if you can donate, please donate 🙏 ❤️
