I was born in Cambridge and spent the first nearly 6 year of my life in Leamington. The first pony we had was a lovely grey Welsh Mountain pony lent to us by friends of our family, Jack and Velma Watson. She was called Shamrock and as well as Shamrock, my elder sister and I regularly rode my father’s TB polo ponies. Just before my 6th birthday our family moved to Tahuna where my father had bought

a hill country sheep and cattle farm. My sister and I had a glorious time riding over the farm helping our father do stock work. Approximately 20 yrs ago I was lucky enough to buy a block of land half way between Hamilton and Raglan, which was when I started breeding horses and ponies. Over a period of time I have refined what I was breeding. My aim was and continues to be to breed good all round sensible horses and ponies that can compete successfully across all disciplines. I also want to breed quality coloured horses and ponies. I currently have two stallions, Brahan George of the Jungle and Tallentire Ozzie. Their progeny are now demonstrating significant performance ability, confirming the direction of my breeding programme.

Annuska had a c**t foal this morning by a friend's stallion, Tonto Star.

I haven't thought of a name yet, however it might have to be something relating to my friend Barbara, who turned 70 yrs today.

Geronimo, orphan foal update.

Geronimo has completely trashed down the side of the house, which he can access from the make shift stable in the garage.

However, even though it is still extremely wet and muddy, I have been putting him in a small paddock outside during the day, so he can gradually get used to the idea he is meant to live outside. So it looks like in place a pig ha been rooting the pasture up, no one little horse tearing backwards and forwards.

In fact the gateway is a complete bog, where he was standing, so I put an electric tape across. Took one day to figure when the tape was or was not live. The minute he knows it isn't live, he ducks under it.

Hopefully in the next week or two I will have the small paddock at the top of the drive finished, and he can go in there with another weanling.

So proud to have bred Brahan Matilda, and grateful for the wonderful job Sophie is doing with her. Two wins and Reserve Champion Green Horse at Dressage at Waikato in the weekend just gone. Well done Sophie.
Out of Sunny by Tallentire Ozzie. Sunny is infoal to my young pony stallion, Havana who is a combination of some of my best bloodlines, Toffee (dam of Fruitilushus and Brahan Highland Fling, George, Honey (double x of Rocky Mountain, dam of Googleit) . So I am very excited to see the foal -who will be plain bay or chestnut.

Ima Wonder carried the famous colours of Ken and Ann Browne to a comprehensive victory in the Pakuranga Hunt Cup on Saturday, 12 years after her mother Ima Heroine who Browne bred and raced captured the same race 🤩

Lovely boy, lucky I have his younger half brother, a plain bay, whom I am keeping for myself. Hopefully he will be backed towards the end of the year.

Update on orphan foal, Geronimo, who is now a little over 2 1/2 months old. He is doing really well, is super cute and is a little rambunctious brat, very smart as well.

As we continue highlighting our racing legends, we spotlight the trailblazer horsewoman that is Ann Browne, who with her late husband Ken built a powerful jumping empire ❤️

Undoubtedly one of New Zealand racing's most iconic figures Browne has had a decorated career spanning over six decades.

Riding and the love of horses have been constants in Ann's life, when in 1979 she became the first woman to ride in an Amateur Riders race in New Zealand, remarkably having become a grandmother on the day before that ride 🤩

In 1983, Ann joined Ken in a training partnership and together they won most of New Zealand's major jumping races, many of them several times 🏆

Ima Heroine, Sydney Jones, Smart Hunter, Wanderlust, Toms Myth, Fair King, Big Brownie, Primo Canera, are just some of the winners in the famous Browne colours.

Eva and Rocky (Brahan Rocketman, out of Pioneer Hot Chocolate by Parakima Wind Dancer) came second in the Pony Scurry at Ruakaka yesterday. I am told he was the most relaxed pony there. Well done Eva, you have done a great job with Rocky.

W***y Wonka is by Brahan George of the Jungle, out of Lanherne Guenieve.
Guenieve is also the dam of Brahaan Lady Loch, by Parakima Wind Dancer (Warmblood x), who has been backed and is at Nitro Equine. She is a full sized pony.
Guenieve is also the dam of Brahan Homozygous Palomino Pinto stallion, by Tallentire Ozzie. He is also at Nitro Equine, and will be standing at stud. EMH 15.2hh.

In another few days, weather permitting it will be more handling and covers on them.

Update on Rocky (Brahan Rocketman).
Rocky (Pioneer Hot Chocolate x Parakima Wind Dancer), what a gem he is, multipurpose pony, do anything. He is now hunting and taking to it like a fish to water.

This is Ammo, my 4 yr old palomino pinto colt by Ozzie out of a chestnut pinto pony mare by George. His favourite pass time apart from finding the wettest & muddiest place to roll, is racing either my Ute or my daughter's car up the driveway.
