Gorgeous Fletcher, is now 7 along with his sister Reign .Such an outgoing kind boy that’s excelled in the show ring and hunt field. We still have a young nephew of his that’s starting to be shown along side the wire dachshund. All our dogs are fully health tested, which is not the same as a vet check! Our vizsla days are slowing down as it’s getting harder for me to do them justice but we haven’t stopped loving or showing just yet. A awesome combination of dog companions having both breeds.

A cooler morning after intense heat, wind and fires here. Very relieved the firefighters have gotten the fire under control. Dogs are enjoying the cool air.

Best in show at the Canterbury dachshund club show 25 November CH Mijento double trouble at Szamor. Thank you to Ros Bacich for awarding Gin, Best in show and stacking her for our photos. I've loved every minute of owning this gorgeous funny girl. Thank you Leslie Weston for helping me breed my first wire litter. Thrilled they are doing well in NZ and Australia. Brenda Alexander , Sue Swift I'm grateful for our friendship and support. ❤️

Well I have to make a announcement 😄. My gorggeous Gin- Mijento double trouble at Szamor Won BEST IN SHOW 🎉🎉 at the Canterbury dachshund show. Photos with the judge to follow. I've loved this very special girl from the moment I set eyes on her. Loving my wire dachy journey. Thank you to everyone that supports me, really appreciate it.

Serious entertainment for the ringside spectators. Hopefully we will spend more time on our feet, rather than playing dead in the grass.

Here's our newest puppy Ida, szamor Gin-Tastic 10 weeks old. She's having some social time at the show with her brother szamor Tom Collins and sister szamor gin o'clock.
Tonic had a great weekend winning 2 baby puppy awards in the hound ring.

Both Tonic and Dalton had a great first weekend out showing. Tonic won both baby puppy of hound group and baby puppy in show. Dalton did all I asked of him and was happy and perfectly behaved. Practice has paid off. Lots of time and effort having two pups of the same age.

Beautiful sunny mild 15 deg winters day. The horses welcomed the sun and spent the day out of the mud in the arena. Marlo met Dalton, they were both very interested in each other.

Morning crazies with Dalton

The gardeners 😳 Dalton and Tonic.

As many of you know Szamor kennels also has standard wirehaired Dachshund. We are excited about Gin becoming a Mum at the end of the month. We have also welcomed little Tonic, he is fitting in well and Dalton approves of his new playmate. Having a rare breed like the wirehaired Dachshund means there aren't a lot of options in NZ, so we have to import dogs and or semen. We had a great trip to the Dachshund national show in Australia meeting so many wonderful dogs and dedicated breeders. If your interested in this gorgeous funny breed please get intouch .

Week 1 for Dalton, he's sleeping through the night, not had a single toilet accident and is just the nicest boy. He comes to work with me and meets people, kids and watches all that's going on. From horses being ridden and other dogs running loose. 4 1/2 hours traveling and watching me work. So much you can expose your pups to without walking them in public places when they're not fully vaccinated. What have your pups been up to?

Dalton has fitted in nicely, hope everything is going well for the U litter. 💕

Morning rumble

Our eyes are open and we all got our nails trimmed.

Rafoej our-Reuben, pennhip score 0.18/0.22, Elbow scores 0,0. Eye tested, gonioscopy. DNA clear for cerebellar ataxia. Showing his playful awesome nature. We picked him up and brought him all the way home from Blenheim. He had never met us and was the easiest, laid back gentleman. Gin loved playing with her new friend. We're delighted he has produced some lovely babies . We welcome anyone interested in this breed to visit if your in Canterbury.
