No feeding your dog kibble doesn't clean their teeth. One of the many myths out there that is SO obviously not true if you take a second to think.

Just did my council pet registration renewal. I added a note saying the lifetime tags some councils are doing would be a great idea for Rotorua. The more of us who suggest this will likely help them implement change. Save the turtles 🐢 No to plastic tags.

UPDATE: 😥 Big ask for Donations 😥

First of all we would like to say HUGE THANK YOU FROM THE BOTTOM OF OUR HEARTS to our fantastic followers for their generous donations and lovely words of encouragement and appreciation for our rescue work.
Over the last two days we have received:
* Monetary donations total of $1,278.
* Two full grooming sessions were donated by different pet groomers. Our Beardie x “Lady” had one yesterday at Kaharoa Kennels, Doggy Daystay and Grooming and “Misty” the Siberian Husky will have hers this Friday (update will follow).
* A parcel with hand made winter coats specially crafted for our rescue doggies by one of our supporters Robyn Horton.
* Dog collars, leads, harness, grooming items and worm/flea treatments donated by Kaharoa Kennels, Doggy Daystay and Grooming.
* 40kg of raw food - “K9 Natural” and “Prey” and “Simparica” flea/mite treatment donated by Barrowman and Goodman Vets .

This morning we cleared our pending vet bill of $462 and we though we are getting on top of things till we brought our van for previously booked service with Mitsubishi Rotorua just to find out that our “Delica” has completely given up on us…
We received a devastating call with the news that she is unsafe to drive on the road any longer and the following has to be done:
1. Gearbox is broken and needs replacement.
2. ABS sensor is broken and needs replacement.
3. Full service and replacement of wiper blades is a must.

Quotation for the above parts and repairs Total of $6,649 - the funds sadly we don’t have.
The leftover donation of $816 will be going towards the above repair bill, we are still short of a huge sum of $5,833.

The only van we have is a lifeline to our rescue work, without it we are totally at STANDSTILL. We are asking our supporters and followers to help us out anyway you can please.
Unfortunately Mitsubishi Rotorua can not give us their account number so donations can be made directly to them with the reference to our name.
