Chewy, male Pekingese, was brought to the clinic with the following complaints: lethargy, stranguria (straining when urinating) and hematuria (blood in the urine). It’s XRAY revealed presence of urethral stones. He had undergone surgical procedure (CYSTOTOMY).

Please be careful in choosing your dog’s food. Always provide them highly nutritious whole food diet that avoids processed ingredients. Make sure that they also have access to unlimited clean water.

Chewy, 8-month old, Chow Chow, was presented to the clinic with the following complaints: both of her lower and upper eyelid folds inward toward the eyeball affecting her vision, she’s always lethargic, on walks she cannot keep on the sidewalk, and would walk into objects if the owner will not guide her.

Upon physical examination, inner eye inflammation and corneal ulcers were noted. It’s because of the constant rubbing of the dog’s eyelashes against her eyeball. The condition is called Entropion.

Surgical correction (Blepharoplasty) was conducted immediately. A small strip of skin were removed from below the eyelid. These area is then sutured together pulling the eyelid margin outward. Antibiotic (oral and eye drop) and anti inflammatory drug were prescribed. After 2 weeks, Chewy’s vision is better and she’s brighter and more alert than before. ❤️

After 10 long days of fighting Parvovirus, Ganda is now going home! ❤️

What is Parvoviral Infection?

Canine parvovirus is a contagious virus mainly affecting dogs. It is transmitted from dog to dog by direct or indirect contact with their f***s. Puppies without vaccines are highly susceptible to it. Clinical signs include lethargy, inappetence, vomiting, and bloody diarrhea.

There is no direct treatment for this, only supportive care is given (IV fluid administration, antiemetics, and broad spectrum antibiotic to prevent secondary bacterial infection)

Please make it a habit to bring your pups in a clinic and have their vaccination (5in1, 6in1). Be a responsible pet owner! 😊

A 1 month and 2 weeks old puppy was brought to the clinic due to vomiting and diarrhea. He is positive of Toxocariasis (roundworm infection). He is now on IV fluids and medications were already given.

Please make it a habit to deworm your pups as early as 2weeks old. It can be dangerous if your dog will have this type of worm as it is confirmed to be zoonotic (type of disease that can be pass from animal to human).
