COMPOSITION
Colistin sulfate 500 mg eq. 9 500 000 I.U. per gram of powder.
PHARMACOTHERPAEUTIC CATEGORY
Intestinal anti-infective (antibiotics: colistin).

PROPERTIES
Colistin (Polymyxin E) is an antibiotic belonging to the polymyxin group. The antibacterial action of polymyxins is based on a passive interaction with the bacterial cell wall. This implicates that polymyxins also are able to inactivate bacterial endotoxins. Colistin exerts concentration-dependent activity against Gram-negative bacteria (e.g. E. coli, Salmonella spp.). Following oral administration high concentrations are achieved in the gastrointestinal tract, i.e. the target site, due to the poor absorption of the substance.

INDICATIONS
For the treatment and metaphylaxis of enteric infections caused by bacteria susceptible to colistin.

DOSAGE, ROUTE AND METHOD OF ADMINISTRATION
Oral administration (drinking water, milk): 5 mg colistin sulfate eq. 95 000 IU per kg BW or 0.1 gram Emdocolin 50% powder per 10 kg BW per day for 3 to 7 days, in one or two administrations.

TYLECO SOLUBLE

An aid in the control and treatment of Chronic respiratory disease(CRD)in broilers and replacement chickens, and infectious sinusitis in turkeys caused by Mycoplasma Gallispeticum

TYLECO® SOLUBLE contains tylosin tartrate – a macrolide antibiotic used exclusively in veterinary medicine. It has a bacteriostatic action at low concentration but becomes bactericidal at higher levels. TYLECO® SOLUBLE shows a particular action against Mycoplasma gallisepticum, which is implicated in the Chronic Respiratory Disease (CRD) in broilers and replacement chickens, and in the Infectious Sinusitis in turkeys.

DIRECTIONS FOR USE:
DO NOT USE in laying hens, or in replacement pullets/broiler breeders within 7 days of the onset of lay, where eggs or egg products are to be used for human consumption or processing.

Blend TYLECO® SOLUBLE at a rate of 100 g of tylosin activity into 5 litres warm water and mix thoroughly. Dilute the concentrated solution to prepare a recommended dose rate. Always add the water to the powder and prepare a fresh TYLECO® SOLUBLE solution every three days.

DOSAGE AND ADMINISTRATION:

CHICKENS AND TURKEYS:
Dilute the concentrated solution to make up to 200 L of medicated drinking water. Provide as the only source of drinking water. This is sufficient for the treatment of 1,400 broilers for 4 days (or 0.018 g/bird/day) or 2,800 day old chickens for 3 days (or 0.012 g/bird/day) or 2,800 chickens of age between 18 and 24 days for 1 day (or 0.035 g/bird/day).

CHICKENS: As an Aid in the Control and Treatment of Chronic Respiratory Disease (CRD) in Broilers and Replacement Chickens caused by Mycoplasma gallisepticum. Prevention: Treat chickens for the first 3 days of life. Then repeat treatment for one day at 3 to 4 weeks of age or in event of a live virus vaccination and any other stress.

Treatment: Thoroughly mix 0.5 g tylosin activity with 1 L of drinking water (100 g tylosin activity per 200 L).
Use only TYLECO® SOLUBLE medicated water for 3 to 6 days depending on the severity of infection.

TURKEYS: As an Aid in the Control and Treatment of Infectious Sinusitis in Turkeys caused by M. gallisepticum.
Use only TYLECO® SOLUBLE medicated water for 2 to 5 days depending on the severity of infection.

KARIFLOX 10% ORAL SOLUTION

COMPOSITION
Each ml contains:
Enrofloxacin…100mg/ml solution

TARGET SPECIES
Chickens and Turkeys.

PACKING
White high-density polyethylene containers of three capacities: 250 ml jars, 1 L bottles and 5 L barrels. Containers are closed with a seal screw cap of the same material with induction disk.

INDICATIONS FOR USE
Treatment of infections caused by the following bacteria susceptible to enrofloxacin:

CHICKENS
Mycoplasma gallisepticum,
Mycoplasma synoviae,
Avibacterium paragallinarum,
Pasteurella multocida.

TURKEYS
Mycoplasma
gallisepticum,
Mycoplasma synoviae,
Pasteurella multocida.

CONTRAINDICATIONS
Do not use in birds producing eggs for human consumption.
Do not use for prophylaxis.
Do not use when resistance / cross-resistance to (fluoro) quinolones is known to occur in the flock intended for treatment.
Do not use in cases of hypersensitivity to the active substance or to any of the excipients.

INTERACTION WITH OTHER MEDICINAL PRODUCTS
Concurrent use of enrofloxacin with other antimicrobials, tetracyclines and macrolide antibiotics, may result in antagonistic effects.
Absorption of enrofloxacin may be reduced if the product is administered together with substances containing magnesium or aluminium.
Do not combine enrofloxacin with steroidal anti-inflammatory products.

AMOUNTS TO BE ADMINISTERED & ADMINISTERED ROUTE
For oral administration via the drinking water. This may be put directly into the header tanks, or via water proportioner systems.
10 mg enrofloxacin/kg bodyweight per day for 3-5 consecutive days.
Treatment for 3-5 consecutive days: for 5 consecutive days in mixed infections and chronic progressive forms.
If no clinical improvement is achieved within 2-3 days, alternative antimicrobial therapy should be considered based on susceptibility testing.
Medication of the water supply should be continuous during the treatment period and no other source of water should be available. Medicated water should be made every day, immediately prior to provision.
Carefully calculate the total body mass to be treated and the total daily water consumption before each treatment.
To ensure correct dosage, body weight should be determined as accurately as possible to avoid underdosering.

OVERDOSE
Do not exceed the recommended dose. In accidental overdose there is no antidote and treatment should be symptomatic.

Meat and offal Chickens: Meat and offal: 7 days Turkeys: Meat and offal: 13 days Not authorized for use in birds producing eggs for human consumption. Do not administer to layer replacement birds within 14 days of coming into lay.

HOW IT WORKS
Enrofloxacin is a synthetic, broad spectrum antimicrobial substance, belonging to the fluoroquinoline group of antibiotics. It is bactericidal in action with activity against a range of Gram positive and Gram negative bacteria and mycoplasmas. The mechanism of action of the quinolones is unique among antimicrobials – they act primarily to inhibit bacterial DNA gyrase, an enzyme responsible for controlling the supercoiling of bacterial DNA during replication. Resealing of the double standard helix is inhibited resulting in irreversible degradation of the chromosomal DNA. The fluoroquinolones also possess activity against bacteria in the stationary phase by an alteration of the permeability of the outer membrane phospholipid cell wall.

In poultry feed the use of fibrous feed ingredients, such as cereals or alternative by-products, is common in order to fulfill crude fiber requirements and to decrease feed costs. No doubt, mycotoxins present one of the biggest issues in modern animal farming.

Recent evidence suggests that even low levels of multiple mycotoxins, under long-term field exposure, can impact animal performance and health. This negative, synergistic additive impact is exacerbated when combined with other stress factors, typically seen in real farming production, such as climatic conditions, stock density, poor quality of feed, low level of (subclinical) infections, etc.
