When your baby horse was apparently born broke to be an eventer. This is Gigi (DHF A Good Gamble) Noni’s last baby by Connemara stallion Coud Poker Tartifume. She’s a yearling this year and this was her first time leaving the farm since she came home from the vet as a baby. She loaded right up (we did practice this once a few months ago) tied to the trailer with kit, did some logs and water and ditches, got hosed off and hopped back on the trailer to go home. Easiest child I’ve ever had 😂 And yes she IS catching up to Kit who is 15.2 rather quickly! honorable mention to the perfect KitKat for her quiet calm leadership 🥰 KitKat is also a homebred out of my late TB mare Hidden Agenda by the Connemara Stallion Gunsmoke! Thanks Natalie Li for coming with to babysit us and take video evidence!!

New girl says fly masks are dumb even tho they protect my pink skin 🙄. I have decided on the name Tissanah from a book I’m reading called Daughter of No Worlds. Her character is an orphaned magical warrior with albino spotted skin/hair and two different colored eyes. I thought it was rather fitting. I’ll probably call her Tissy for short.

Little Sir’s genetic tests are back! He is bay Frame Overo with Splash W20. For those that don’t know, he is full Thoroughbred he will have Jockey Club and APHA papers! Goal is to keep him a stallion (if he behaves and continues to pass all my criteria) and either stand/compete him myself or sell him to someone who wants to so I can retain some breeding rights.

For those that haven’t met her yet this is a VERY pregnant Callie (JC name is Classy Bows by Ocbow) she is a few weeks away from popping with a foal by Remarquez my first full tb foal! Callie will take a year off to spend with her baby and get rebred to a Connemara stallion next year! Her and Noni have become close friends 💕

Please welcome our newest addition Blackwing Witching Hour (Morrigan) by Patty’s Etoile de Paris out of Wildwych O’Farrell. My very first purebred Connemara! Mor is only 9 months old but I’ve already got future breedings planned in my head 😆 So far she’s sweet as can be and extremely smart, I can’t wait to get to know her more as she grows up! Thank you Raelin for this special filly and all the knowledge and fun you shared with me this past weekend.

My wonderful husband Zack is going out on his own. Apparently he can’t just spend ALL his time just working on my endless projects around the farm 😆 As a super ridiculously picky OCD horse girl I can guarantee his work is top notch in everything he does right down to I had to tell him not to clean every single tiny itty bitty piece of horse 💩 out of the stalls when he first helped me with them! So to say he’s detail oriented is quite the understatement! Contact him today if you need trailer maintenance, add ons or finishing/repairing. As some of you know I’ve been importing Arizona Alfalfa from Kate Shearer for my tb crew that I recently moved to Aiken. This stuff is magical and a few people asked for tests and I was curious myself so I sent it off for testing. Here are the results! For reference the higher the RFV the better quality the hay, most aim for 100, this is 229 😂. So this is the Dairy Quality hay the MN and Midwest farmers would never sell me for my Thoroughbreds with all sorts of false claims about too much protein (it’s 18.3%- average good hay is 12% ish). My specific horses are on Bermuda (coastal) pasture and get supplemented with this hay. My 2 harder keepers still get some senior but everyone else is getting nothing but some ration balancer and hay pellets to get their salt and simplifly in them. My easier keepers are getting 1 flake of this a day (these are 100lb bales so they are twice the size of a normal flake), and the harder keepers get about 25lbs of it per day while on free choice pasture.
