Stressful and sad situation. 7 pups were dropped off at the AAS shelter today. There is NO space at the shelter for them. The puppies need temporary fosters by tomorrow, or they will be euthanized. There is a rescue that can take them in 7 to 10 days. If you can open up your heart to take a few, please message ASAP.

The Aiken County Animal Shelter is at full capacity and desperately needs fosters and adopters. 😔 Pets over one year old are fee-waived this month. Puppies are $35; kittens are $10.

Our shelter, already at capacity, has just taken in dogs from a recent mass seizure. We urgently need your help to ensure these animals receive the care they deserve.

How You Can Help:

1. Adopt or Foster: Open your home to a pet in need. Adoption and fostering are critical to creating space for more animals.
2. Rescue: Partner with us to rescue these animals and provide them with the necessary care.
3. Divert Strays: Help us manage the influx by:
- Taking strays to vet clinics to scan for microchips.
- Posting about found pets on lost and found pages, Nextdoor, and 24PetConnect.
4. Spread the Word: Share this post and raise awareness in our community.

If some of you remember a little bit back I had posted about a sweet little old dog that was found by one of my clients extremely neglected , starving and suffering and i was hoping to find him a home after we helped get him on his feet. A wonderful couple came forward and adopted him .
He was so loved. They gave him a life a dog can only dream of. He was almost blind but still so happy and got healthy again! With tears in my eyes I write to tell you that his little body just stopped working correctly today and he took his last breath, he is now with all our other beloved dogs that we have lost along the way in heaven.
I always take it hard when I hear of pups from our Dirty Paws Family passing, but I wanted to share his story again in hopes that it will help other old dogs in bad situations.
Marley passed away living like a king and feeling more love in those few months with his new family than he ever did his whole life. He will be missed.
Please consider those old dogs or dogs that have health issues that need help at the shelters and rescues. They need you!!!
Marley's time in an amazing home may have been brief but he passed on so happy, loved and at peace. Don't give up on the old ones, they need happily ever after endings just like Marley got too. 💓 Rest in peace Marley .............

Just an FYI our phone line went down today and I was told it was an area outage. Breezeline is our phone company and they didn't fix the issue today😐 They are supposed to come out first thing in the morning to fix it but we may not have a working phone until noon. So if you see us calling it will be a cell number. So sorry for any inconvenience. We are working as quick as we can to get breezeline to remedy the situation. Thank you!!

The sun is back again this week!! We Are enjoying ourselves at Dirty Paws Aiken pampering adorable pups of all sizes and all ages too!! We have a lot of dogs that come to us with special needs and some very elderly and fragile even.
we love them and do our best to make grooming comfortable for them. ❤️❤️

Brady here would like to help me send out a few very friendly requests to all our beloved old and new clients. We want to keep our shop running in tip top shape, peaceful and efficiently! We strive to get your pup a high quality groom as quick and stress free as possible. I have 5 of us working full time to keep things moving along! We have a small shop and use luxury suites instead of cages and we only have so much room . Please be able to be reached by phone the entire time your dog is in our care and be ready to pickup in a timely manner when we call. ( Unless prior approval to stay longer is made) Especially if you have a dog that likes to bark or has anxiety issues etc . We still love them, but a barking or high anxiety dog greatly disrupts the peace in the shop for the other dogs so we try to send them home as soon as we are finished. We groom a lot of dogs, some fragile, scared and old even. We try to keep the environment peaceful for everyone.
While we really love being at work and pampering your baby, we also are all moms that have children and lives/ commitments outside of the shop . So we really need to be able to close when we finish our job for the day. Please answer your phone. We have had instances where we were stuck for literally 3 hours plus past closing because we cannot get a hold of the owner to come get the dog. We groom by appointment only and Most days we start before 8 am and will be done grooming between 230 and 3 so we can go pickup our kids from school. Some days we have later appointments and some days we may leave earlier. We so appreciate all our clients and would really love if you can help us keep the shop moving along efficiently and make the time your pup is with us even more great!
Lastly , appointments are a big deal, please respect our time and be sure to show up and on time if you schedule with us. We do have a no show policy posted that we charge a "penalty" fee for not showing up but We rarely invoke this as we try to be very patient and understanding because we love our clients!! We ask very nicely if you make an appointment and cannot make it to try to let us know ASAP so we can fill that appointment. We book very far out and We have 50 plus people at all times on our cancel lists but when it is last min we sometimes don't have enough time to get someone else in. If you can just give us a heads up it would be so so appreciated . Thanks so much for the understanding and to everyone that helps us keep our place moving nicely ! If you have a special circumstance/request or need to leave your dog longer for some reason just talk to us and we will do our very best to accommodate if we can. We know how busy life is and we will help out whenever we can❤️❤️❤️ thank you everyone , we appreciate you !😊

Our shelter remains at critical capacity with limited kennel spaces available. To help save lives and prevent space-based euthanasia decisions we urgently need adopters, fosters and rescues. We are extending our emergency adoption special through TOMORROW, Saturday March 9th.

All adoption fees will be waived for all dogs ready for adoption!

What does ready for adoption mean? All dogs must be spayed/neutered, microchipped and vaccinated before finalizing an adoption.

Can't commit to forever? Consider fostering! Many of our dogs would benefit from time away from the shelter. Provide a temporary home, make a permanent difference.

We are open tomorrow, Saturday March 9th from 9 AM - 4 PM. Please come with a leash and collar! Thank you for your support!

My girls and i have been working very very hard! They are getting a much needed break and refresh so Dirty Paws will be closed Feb 17th and we will return Feb 22nd. I myself will not be back until the 29th. I Hope everyone is looking forward to spring as much as I am. 😀😀😀😀We will be all ready for you when your pup needs that spring style.❤️ Feel free to leave a message if you need something and we will return your call on the 22nd.
