As someone who has personally witnessed a family member fight against the system for years in order to protect an animal's right to live, despite its behavioral issues, my entire perspective on how we view animals that are different from what is considered 'normal' has been transformed. It made me realize that as a community, we have the power to help those misunderstood creatures by doubling our efforts towards their well-being and ensuring they get another shot at living happily through various rehabilitation methods so they are able to find a forever home.

Aggressive or behaviorally challenged dogs are often overlooked and end up on euthanasia lists. By focusing our efforts on these individuals, we hope to provide them with the opportunity for rehabilitation and ultimately, a forever home.

Meet Motzi, our new client of the day! She's a 9-month-old Siberian Husky and one of my favorite breeds. Her parents just brought her home two days ago, so she may be feeling shy at first but I am excited to give her plenty of cuddles tonight. 🙂

Puppy update!!!
These two are loving life. 🙂 they had developed a horrible respiratory infection but thanks to Dixie Girl Dog Rescue they have been on antibiotics and are doing so much better. They are fattening up and are playing harder than EVER! We love Cedar & River! 🐶🐶

Surprise! 🐶
Today we officially have our first foster set!
Meet Maple and Oak.
They are two brothers who were in need of a safe place. The puppy unit is overfilling so they were going to start euthanizing puppies if they did not find a foster.
They are 10 weeks old or so and are full of love.
Shout out to Dixie Girl Dog Rescue for the amazing opportunity to save some lives! 🐶

Everyone meet Attina 🧚🏼🦋 she is the sweetest kitty in all the lands. She is not even a year old yet.

Here’s the story of how we got her… one day my partner and I were outside at his brothers house in Iowa. We heard a screeching cry for help. Seriously yall it was so loud and scary that Sam really thought she was mangled.. We walked towards the screeching cry and bam there she was, stuck up in a tree. She was trying to hide from dogs who wanted to eat her. She was very feral at the time. Probably about 2 months old too. And very very scared. My partner climbed the tree and got her down. We gave her a bath and decided she was meant to be ours for life. :) fast forward to today and this once extremely feral kitty is now the love of our lives. She has 3 doggy friends who would never try to eat her now!! We love our sweet girl. 🐱🐱🐱🐱
