Celebrating National Service Dog Month! ๐ฆฎ This September we're honoring the incredible journey of Hiltie, a service dog in training that is part of our extended family. Sam is working with Canine Companions for Independence (CCI) to train this furry hero to one day be able to help someone in need. ๐
From mastering tasks that bring independence to individuals with disabilities, to providing unwavering companionship and support, service dogs in training embody the spirit of selflessness and devotion. Stay tuned as we document their progress and share the joy they bring to all of us!

We've had a busy past couple of weeks with boarders and playcare, but that made for some cute new pup friend groups.๐พ Otis, Tommy, and Roscoe all met for the first time last month and were inseparable all week! ๐ฅฐ
Lola & Lucy are loving the summer time! โโฑ Our staff is always mindful of the Texas summer heat, and we constantly make adjustments in our playcare routine to keep our patients safe. Lola and Lucy go out for about 10-minutes at a time, and are constantly rotated back inside our air-conditioned kennel area, where they have plenty of access to water.
By taking proactive measures and being attentive to your pet's needs, you can help them stay safe, comfortable, and happy during the summer months! ๐พ๐

As April comes to an end we wanted to take a moment to remind everyone again how important heartworm prevention is. Check out the video below & the infograph in our Story for more information on how heartworms can affect you & your petโs life. Please give us a call to see how you can get your pet started on monthly heartworm prevention today. โค๏ธ
For the past few days, our staff has been amazed at how many people are out and about walking their pet, riding their bikes, and overall spending more time outdoors (6 feet apart, of course!). Here are some tips as to how you can keep your pet safe while outdoors: โBuild up your petโs stamina: remember to ease into walks to avoid sore muscles from sudden increase in physical activity. If you choose to run with your pet, keep in mind that we donโt recommend doing so with growing puppies. Please give us a call if you have any questions! โTry a harness or gentle leader: some pets can get overly excited when walking, and the constant pressure from their collar can lead to other problems in the future. Try a gentle leader or a harness while you work on leash training instead. โParasite prevention: remember to keep your pet on monthly heartworm, flea and tick prevention year round, but especially during the warmer months & as you spend more time outdoors. Daily exercise is not only great for us but for our pets too! Feel free to show us how you and your pet are spending time outdoors!
