Bagheera wants to challenge everyone to head outside today and enjoy playing in the nice weather!
Oyster, our American Black bear, is enjoying this August day with a dip in the pool! How do you beat the heat?
On days that are super hot, our animals beat the heat by coming indoors with the air conditioner, so they may not be as visible! The best time to visit the zoo is when the temps are cooler! Most of our animals tend to take their afternoon naps starting at noon, due to them needing to conserve energy!
Be sure to stop by and visit Amarillo Zoo’s own three little bears, Mesa, Oyster, and Truffles! The zoo is open 7 days a week from 9:30am to 5:00 pm
The results are in and we want to talk about our newest bison.... Bruno! Thank you to those who particpated in the naming contest. More details will come when Bruno will be on exhibit!
Bear Zoomies
Come out and see Truffles and Oyster chase each other like we did with our siblings.
Why are you acting like a cute house cat when you are an apex predator?
Mikey, the red kangaroo, decided to make a cuddle buddy out of his straw bedding last night. ❤️
