It's Never Bean Better Day!

Dogs have rapidly grown to be essential members of the household and community at large. We love them for their companionship, never-ending love, not to mention they make the best cuddle buddies and look incredibly adorable while at it.

Keep your friends close, your dogs closer, and celebrate the companionship of man’s best friend.

The new clinic is beautiful! This was our first time there with a new dog. Dr. Jain is a kind and thorough doctor, and easy to talk to. All of the assistants and receptionists were very friendly as well.

Regularly scheduled wellness exams and vaccines keep you and your pet healthy.
What Are Vaccines?
Vaccines are shots (or a nasal spray) that contain preparations to stimulate an immune response in your pet’s body against preventable diseases. After preparing a response to that bacteria or virus, your pet’s body saves that information in case of “reinfection.” We administer pet vaccines under the skin, not into the muscle like human vaccines
Why are vaccines important?
Vaccines are important because they protect your pet, your family, and the people and pets around you against many diseases. These diseases can be very serious. So, getting immunity from a vaccine is safer than getting immunity by being sick with the disease.
During your pet’s annual wellness exam, we will review your pet’s lifestyle with you and make sure your pet receives all of the necessary immunizations he or she needs to stay healthy.

This week is International Assistance Dog Week and we would like to honor assistance dogs, those who raise and train them, and the veterinary teams who keep them healthy. Assistance dogs provide more than companionship; they provide freedom and confidence to the people they help.

This summer, remember: If you're hot, they're hot, too.

Dogs and cats don't sweat; they rely on panting, which isn't as effective at cooling them off. Organ damage and even death can occur with heatstroke, so think prevention and fast treatment. As soon as you notice your pet showing signs of distress from excessive heat, take these measures:

☀️ Move your pet to a cool area and offer plenty of water.
☀️ Wet down with a hose, wet towels or a cool bath.
☀️ Avoid near-freezing water or ice - it can constrict blood vessels and slow the cooling process; ice can harm skin.

If at-home measures don't seem to be working, don't wait. Rush your pet to your veterinarian or an emergency pet hospital. Learn more about recognizing and preventing heat stroke in dogs at https://bluepearlvet.com/pet-blog/heatstroke-in-dogs/.

Hot pavement alert! As temperatures rise, so does the risk of paw burns. Protect your pet’s toes by testing the pavement with your hand—if it's too hot for you, it's too hot for them! Opt for walks during cooler hours and stick to grassy areas when possible. Let's keep those paws cool and happy this summer!
