The portrait on the wall is my inspiration for . Scout was my heart ❤️ dog and my husband’s aunt created that watercolor of him. I wish you could see it in person - the eyes see into your soul. If I had commissioned an artist that would have been $500+, I am so blessed to have this. Most people don’t have that kind of money for a pet portrait, so I created my digital work so that everyone could afford one.

Happy 8th Gotcha Day to my Ryder dog.

Ryder came to us via a high kill shelter where he was on the list to be put down but taken to safety by a wonderful rescue. It was a little scary to ship a dog that you had never met - turns out it was the best decision ever.

Sweet, silly, kind and always up for an adventure.

A wonderful repeat client sent me the photo when they cat sat awhile back and we completed the image. But a small detail was bothering me - so I took another swing at it.

I normally don’t do pictures where the head is on the floor or an object - instead of removing all of the background I left the sofa and it turned out so cute!!

They have taken in 460 animals already this month!!

❗️𝐂𝐚𝐩𝐚𝐜𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐄𝐦𝐞𝐫𝐠𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐲❗️

When we opened our doors this morning, three dogs sat waiting to be let in. Our staff looked at each other in concern, wondering, “Where will we put them?”

The Humane Society for Tacoma & Pierce County is in a state of emergency. Our shelter has taken in 460 animals so far this month, and every day has become a battle to find space. We are now placing dogs in temporary crates and housing 2 - 3 dogs in single kennels because there is nowhere else for them to go. We are overrun with kittens, with multiple litters arriving daily. On top of the constant intake of animals, we are managing several crisis situations.

Our shelter urgently needs to create space to continue operating, so we are waiving fees for all animals immediately through Sunday (7/23). If you’ve been thinking about adopting, we need you today. You can visit the Humane Society for Tacoma & Pierce County (2608 Center St.) without an appointment to meet our dogs, cats, and critters!

Meet Olive 🫒
This sweet thing is less than a year old and full of personality. She is my hairdresser’s pup and each time I see her she has doubled in size. Just getting a posed photo was challenging 😀

Hello kind and generous friends. A local family has reached out to our AAP program seeking a temporary (1-2 months) foster home for their Maine Coon/tabby cross kitty. As with any of our fosters, we will cover the cost of food and supplies. If you are a feline fan and are willing to consider fostering this cat on a temporary basis, please message us here. We'd love to be able to help these neighbors in need. Remember, SAIN pays the expenses. You would just provide the TLC. ❤
