Meet Jenny and Amy, two adorable kittens currently in foster with one of our favorite foster moms! 😽🧡😽 She reached out to us yesterday asking to share these cuties in hopes of helping them find their forever home(s) 🧡🙏🏻

She simply can’t believe they are still with her! 😿 She’s had them since they were teeny tiny! 😺 They are true sisters, about 15 weeks old, super friendly and cuddly 😻They are bonded so ideally she’d like them to find a home together if possible 🧡

Hey y’all! 💙 We hope you are having a good week! 💚 We want to introduce you to another new Urgent Care technician that has recently joined our team! 🤍 Meet Alanna!😃

Alanna is just about the sweetest person we’ve ever met! 💙 She comes to us with 3️⃣ years of veterinary experience on the GP side 🐈♥️🐕‍🦺 While she enjoyed that area of Vet Med, she wanted to explore what Urgent Care entailed ‼️🩺 Alanna is quickly coming up to speed learning the necessary skills to be in an Urgent Care environment 💪🏻 We attribute this to her being smart, organized and thriving under pressure 💙 She’s doing amazing and we are really glad that she decided to come and work with us!💚

Alanna loves cats 😻, is a proud cat mom to her own kitty, Mushu 🐈‍⬛and loves to travel✈️! The Urgent Care team also let us know she makes one heck of a cannoli dip and is sweet enough to bring it in for the team from time to time! 🍨 Alanna, the GP side wouldn’t be sad if you chose to bring us some one day, too! 😬🙏🏻

We are excited for you all to meet Estefany, one of our new Urgent Care veterinary technicians!🚨🐈‍⬛🩺

Estefany has 6️⃣ years of experience working with animals 💙 She started working at a Zoo 🦍🐅🦜and then made her way to a General Practice 🐕🐈and now she’s here on Urgent Care with us ‼️💚 In her previous position, she was the sole surgical technician for the last 4️⃣ years 🤍 Working in Urgent Care, some of the most important skills to have are IV catheter placement, intubation and anesthetic monitoring so we were really excited when Estefany applied for a position with us 😊 This on top of her calm, cool disposition make her a perfect match for our Urgent Care team 👏🏻💙

While we continue to struggle with no phone/internet at the clinic today 😫 we thought we’d update you (remotely) 😖with the construction progress on our new building located at 1411 Memorial Dr!☺️👷🏼

🚜Demolition is done ✅
👨🏻‍🔧Plumbing permits are approved ✅
🧱The floor of the building has been leveled and the concrete slab has been poured ✅ *(Special thanks to Ella Mai for sitting like a good girl and not getting 🐾 in the concrete!) 🤗
🪟Windows for the building are being manufactured as we speak ✅

We are making good progress on our space and are really excited to see it all come together!🚧🧰🦺

Just a reminder to please do right by your pets with the fireworks 🎆 ! We can’t always plan for them, but we know they are definitely happening tomorrow! 🎇

Here are some tips to help make it easier for them:

🐾 Exercise them early in the day - get them nice and tired! 🦮🎾
🐾 In the evening, draw your blinds and put your 📺 or 📻 up a little louder to drown out noises
🐾 Occupy them with treats and toys like yogurt stuffed Kongs or Snuffle mats with their favorite food/treats 🦴
🐾 Keep doors, gates, windows 🔒 and make sure they are inside when fireworks are expected to go off🎇
🐾 If your pet will still be upset with the above measures, please 📞 us right away today so we can dispense some medication to help with their anxiety 💊Our pharmacy closes by 8PM so please do not wait if you need some🙀

Today we want to give a ‘lil shout out to our CSR, Emily! 💙 She started part time with us back in October and just came onboard full time! 🙌🏻 She stepped up right when we needed her as summer is our busiest time of year! ☀️💚 We are so excited to have a little more of Emily with us! 🤍

Emily came from a busy front desk environment at a pet boarding facility 🐕‍🦺so she’s no stranger to busy ☎️ and busy lobbies! 🐈‍⬛ She is also no stranger to worried pet parents as we all know leaving our pets to go away is often an emotional struggle 😣

Emily is so sweet, a bit shy, but so considerate and caring 💙 These qualities are what made us want her to join our practice! 💚

We are really happy she’s here, especially for more hours a week-and we hope she never regrets signing up for that! 😜🤍.

We are getting alot of calls 📞 from concerned owners that their pets are lethargic, drooling and can’t cool down - we have to be careful with with our pets in these high temps🌡️! 🥵 Please keep your pets cool and inside on days like this! 🥶Heat stroke is real and life threatening!

She may be new to us but Dimitra, also known as “Dee” has been a technician for 24 years! 💚 She’s been a vet nurse for most of her life and that is obvious to see when you witness her with the animals🐈‍⬛🤍 They love her as she loves them!💙🐩

Dee is originally from NJ! 🙌🏻💚 Has 2 adorable dogs, Bugsy and Izzy (with very cool haircuts - swipe to see) 🤍 and loves to 🛼! ABOUT CITY BY THE SEA VETERINARY HOSPITAL

City by the Sea Veterinary Hospital, opening its doors in late summer of 2018, is the fulfillment of a dream of Dr. Thomas Caltabilota. His singular vision is to provide veterinary health care for the unique pets and pet owners of Asbury Park and the surrounding shore cities of Jersey.

Thomas was born the 3rd of 4 children to Frank and Joanne in West Long Branch, a big Italian family with a long last name. A summer job at Monmouth Park racetrack in his teens provided a special insight into the ability of horses to read the emotions, body language and thoughts of the people around them. This passion took him to Rutgers University where he worked with exercising horses on high-speed treadmills and studied high-performance drugs. After Rutgers, Thomas moved to the bayou of Louisiana where he fell in love with college football, gumbo, and crawfish. Here, he obtained a Master’s degree in equine endocrinology from LSU.

Dr. Tom attended Tuskegee University in Alabama for his veterinary training. Here he diversified his animal experience by working with small animals (cats and dogs) at an ER in Birmingham. The passion he developed for horses extended to all animals big and small, and thus evolved his mission to give back to these creatures that gave so much to him.

At Rutgers, Thomas met his wife, Dr. Avery Kasten, also a veterinarian in the shore area. After vet school Avery and Thomas moved to Asbury Park. He completed an internship at Garden State Veterinary Specialists and then started a house-call palliative care practice and also performed relief services throughout New Jersey.
