this sweetest elfin magic kvell muffin was selected as one of 20 under 21 to receive an award from from and they received their award last night at this really fun gathering. that was amazing in itself. what was an added deliciousness was seeing rocky horror picture show for the very first time (for both of us) with my kid, at a drive-in showing, with us both scootched up in the driver's seat of my car because they couldn't see the screen from the passenger's. and also the moment when they realized for the first time in over a year of owning our car that it doesn't have a sunroof was a personal favorite. and also this kid. i'm so very very proud of them.

The babies are growing by leaps and bounds. Sappho is giving them loads of space to play and remains dutifully on point to care for their needs as they develop and become more independent.

They've taken over the bedroom and are jumping on all the human things, which we share more than willingly and would be thrilled to receive a few odds and ends to help us fill the gaps.

Thank you in advance for considering our wish list during this official week of gratitude sharing for the bounty we create in our communities of choice.

upon entering the environs of the kitchen, i am immediately aware of the cats who begin to swirl and surround me in the way that sharks infest bloody waters. they know who i am. i am thumby, the food doler outer.

they encircle me but allow me just enough space to dip each bowl into the food bin and replace it on the counter. then the dance begins--who will take first, who will growl and guard the precious, and, finally, who will ingest food with an unhinged jaw at a rate so precipitous that, 45 seconds later, a projectile of vomit will spew into the very food bowl from which the kibble derived and for many meters beyond. thank God for the dog! but, great! more laundry! as i wash the table runner for the second time in 24 hours.

then, a moment of silence falls as a harbinger of what will next transpire, and i hear the slow dragging of an inanimate (i hope) object across the hair-covered floor.

alas, one of the "kittens" has claimed the care bear necklace entwined in copper wire and bedazzled with a Swarovski crystal at its heart chakra, gifted me by a lovely street vendor from yesterday's canvassing day in little five points who didn't believe in voting but liked my energy anyway.

and with this, i say to you, may your monday be filled with whatever makes your heart sing.
