Bruin is looking for a home with a yard. He would love to be with a family of 1-2 humans and another dog.

Bruin is black lab (88 lbs) that is almost three years old, born on March 20, 2020. He is a tall, athletic boy who loves to run around in a yard. He is lightly obsessed with squirrels and loves to play one on one or in a small group with other dogs. He has not been around cats.

When he’s inside his home, he enjoys lounging on his “place” and staring out the window. If a motorcycle goes by he is sure to alert you.

Bruin does not get on furniture and enjoys sleeping in his “house” aka kennel. You may even find him taking naps there in the middle of the day. He enjoys playing with his toys and enjoys the occasional round of fetch as well. He does not have a history of chewing.

When friends come over, as long as he knows they are friends, and he can approach on his own terms, Bruin is happy to accept head scratches and attention. Bruin does not like when strangers come directly to him or if they threaten his people. Bruin is a protector. But he also loves big!

Pros:
House broken
Trained in small group (Zoom Room) and one on one with K-9 Kenny
Energetic, loves to go for walks and be outside
Will love his humans fiercely
Terribly handsome!

Cons:
Not ideal for a home with small children or more than 2-3 adult humans
Does best with people who understand dogs and are comfortable allowing him to approach on his own terms
Bruin had surgery on his rear left CCL in 2021 - he made a full recovery and has been healthy since

Looking for a forever home for this sweet pup! Here is the info from the owner:
His name is Ryder, and he is a neutered male, lab-pit bull mix who is around 16 months old. He is very much still a puppy and needs training, but he is house broken and crate trained. He’s a very loving dog that likes to cuddle. He loves water and likes taking baths. He gets along very well with our other dogs. He does pull on his leash when he sees other dogs, so I'm not sure what his reaction will be when he meets a dog that is unfamiliar to him. Unfortunately, he is a cat chaser, which is why we need to find him a new home. if you are interested or know someone who may be interested in adopting him, please let me know.
