Please be advised that as of Monday, June 3, 24, our practice will require a $25 deposit to schedule any dental or surgical appointments. We kindly request at least 48 hours' notice for any cancellations or rescheduling of these appointments. If less than 48 hours' notice is given, the deposit will be used to cover the missed appointment fee. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.

Nice weather is here and so are the “ Battle Creek bugs!”
No-see-ums or “Battle Creek bugs as we like to call them are tiny bugs that live in the grass or sandy areas around our homes. You may notice bites similar to those pictured on the under-bellies of our four-legged friends after they have been playing or lying outside. It is recommended to monitor these spots , which typically disappear with in 7-10days, for any changes in appearance. If you notice any of the following symptoms, contact your local veterinarian as it could be caused by another disease process.

-Vomiting
- Bloody stools/Diarrhea
-Change in appetite or water consumption
-Darkening of spots or spots becoming purplish in color

Some flea/tick preventatives are known to have repellent properties, your veterinarian should be contacted prior to purchase to match the product to your pets specific needs.

All of us at Dickman Road Veterinary Clinic want to issue an apology for the delay in text messaging that went out last night in regards to early closures. This was the first time we used our new software for mass communication and with the amount of clients we have it took quite a bit of time to send out . We hope everyone is staying safe and warm during this storm.

Attention!!!! We will be closed this upcoming Saturday 1-6-24 for software upgrade, sorry for any inconvenience this may cause . We also would like to ask if you have any food/meds that need to be picked up please pick those up by end of day Friday 1-5-24. Please bear with us as we start using our new software on 1-8-24 , thank you for your understanding.

Happy holidays to all of our furry friends and their families!!!🎄🎅🏼
Holiday hours will be as follows.
December 20th- closing at 5pm for employee holiday party.
December 25th - closed , we will reopen for normal business hours on Tuesday December, 26th.
January 1st - closed , we will reopen for normal business hours on Tuesday January 2nd
January 6th- closed for software maintenance

We will also be having staff training on December 22nd, December 28th, and January 3rd. We will be closing at 4:00 pm on these days, please plan on having and medication and pets picked up by that time .

We are updating our software system! January 8th we will launch our new software program, Shepherd. We will be getting rid of our paper files and going paperless! Although a daunting task, we look forward to it and to be able to better serve you!

What this means for you, our clients:
The first couple weeks we launch we will be seeing less appointments while we go through the transition from one software to the next. If you have a vaccine or wellness exam that could go before or after that couple weeks it would be greatly appreciated. If it is a puppy starting their puppy vaccines or in the middle of the series absolutely we will get you scheduled!
We will be updating our communications with you! Please make sure that your phone number is current on your account and let us know if it is easier to contact you via email or text message. You will also be able to opt in for mass communications, such as sudden closures.
We will be sending some paperwork out prior to your appointment if you have a surgery or drop off to make for a smoother and faster check in process. That paperwork can be sent to you via email or text message.
You can use our pet portal to request refills, make appointments or pay your bill online. You should also be able to print vaccine certificates from your pets page. We will send out information regarding the portal when we get closer to launch.
If you pay by credit card you have the option to keep that credit card on file in Shepherd, this will make it easier to pay with any recurring visits! It will be saved into Shepherd just like you would save it into Amazon and nobody else will have access to it, not even employees! If you prefer to not have your information saved let us know at checkout! Nothing will change with Care Credit, Cash or Check.
