Hello out there, it is us here at Otisdawg. First I would like to once again thank everyone for your understanding when we had to close down last year without notice. And for the prayers and well wishes after my wife's passing. They are still felt today. If I remember correctly I told you I would let you know our plans for this year. Well, after a long a winter and much thinking I came to the understanding that (and the Mrs would agree) the way the year ended was not the way we wanted Otisdawg to retire, so we will be opening up again at the Farm Market this year only with some modifications. First, I will not be able to open until at least July 3 because of some surgery I have scheduled. We will be at the market every two weeks and probably with a little less product than in the past because I am doing everything myself this year. Prices will not go up. Most importantly, this, in all likelihood will be our last year. We will see how it plays out. Finally, tomorrow is the first market of the year so please get out and support our local vendors and friends. I will be bebopping in and out so if you have questions and see me feel free to pull me aside and at least say hi. I am looking forward to spending time with you once again. I pray the Lord continues to bless each of you. 🦴🐾

Good afternoon everyone. It is with a heavy heart that I tell you of the passing of my lovely wife, Peggy (Mrs. OtisDawg). She loved the farm markets and festivals and she loved baking her pupcakes. It is because of you she kept coming back and coming back, until she no longer had the strength to return. Even then she insisted that I come and leave her at home. until I could no longer leave her alone. Money was not the reason we came week in and week out, it was you. Your generous smiles, friendship, kindness and, love is what drove her and me to return each week. For that I have nothing but gratitude from the bottom of my heart. Although she is gone I am at peace because I know she is resting comfortably in the loving arms of our Lord in His Heavenly Kingdom. God bless each of you.😒🐾🦴

08/14/2023

Good morning. I have been hoping against hope that OtisDawg would be able to return to the market this year but, I just can't do it. My wife's illness requires more attention than it did 3 weeks ago and quite possibly will require more. I am so sorry that we can't work it out and we really do appreciate your patience with us.
God's will is not always easy but it is always perfect. I will make a decision about next year in the spring. Thank you all again for your loyalty and mostly for your friendship. Blessings...🐾🦴

08/07/2023

We are sorry to say we will not be at the market on Wednesday. Children's day is always so special. There is nothing more rewarding than seeing the smiles and enthusiasm that only children can display. When you look into a child's eyes or see their precious smiles you cannot help but understand the true miracle God has created. Blessings to all..🐾🦴

07/31/2023

Hi everyone. Wanted to keep you informed. I just let Lindsay know we will not be able to attend the market this week. I will let you know about next week as things continue to unfold here on the home front. Thank you for all the prayers. Blessings..🐾🦴

07/25/2023

Good morning everybody. I am sorry to tell you that I am not sure if we will be at the market tomorrow. There is some, "stuff." going on in the Otisdawg house that we are trying to resolve. If we do make it we will be leaving early. I am sorry I can't tell you more at this time but truly appreciate your understanding and prayers. God Bless. 🐾🦴

This Sunday from 12 till 4 is the Bedford County Humane Society's annual PupArt event. It is one of their primary fundraisers for the year and the cover charge is $30.00 per person or $50.00 a couple. Children under 14 ( I think) are free. So come on out and support a good cause. Have a portrait of your pup done by one of the many artists or perhaps a caricature. Pick up some bling for that special fur child of yours. Oh, did I mention OtisDawg will be there too, so there will be treats. We truly hope to see you at this wonderful event. Blessings to each...🐾🦴

07/17/2023

Hi everyone. It has been a busy week thus far and may not slow down for a while. Unfortunately we will not be able to attend the market this week as we have an appointment with an eye doctor. We tried to get out of it but can't. We are sorry for the inconvenience. We do plan to attend the PupArt event on the 23rd to help the Humane Society raise money for the good work they do. There is a cover charge but if you come we will be there! Check their page for more detail. Thank you for your understanding and we look forward to seeing everyone in about a week, God willing. Don't forget that a random act of kindness fills the heart with joy. God Bless you all. 🐾🦴

Mrs. Otisdawg is in the kitchen making pupcakes and I'm not. My turn comes tomorrow. Wednesday looks like it will be a beautiful summer day to come out to the market. The Bedford Conservation District will be there and there should be plenty of vendors as we begin to anticipate the farmers' crops beginning to harvest soon. Otisdawg will be there looking forward to seeing everyone. There will be pupcakes and biscuits, bones and training treats. Mostly there will be friendly chatter. So stop on in and visit a spell. Till then may God's peace be with each of you! 🐾🦴

Independence Day!! The day to celebrate our independence from king and country and a day to celebrate our freedoms. Please take time to enjoy this day and remember the sacrifices made to keep us free. We here at OtisDawg are spending time with family and friends, picnicking and maybe even some fireworks later on. A reminder; tomorrow is Veteran's voucher day at the market so come on out and thank those who have given so much to protect our freedoms. But today, let's celebrate safely and enjoy what God has so generously given us. See you tomorrow! Blessings...🐾🦴

06/26/2023

Hi guys!! Well, we beat the rain Saturday and had a wonderful time catching up with old friends we haven't seen for a while and meeting new friends we hope to see again. We are busy getting ready for Wednesday's market and it seems that the weather may cooperate. We'll see. No special events this Wednesday, just an opportunity to enjoy God's creation and get together with friends. We are looking forward seeing everyone so, come on down!! Till then, may God's blessings be upon you all. 🐾🦴

06/23/2023

Wednesday was fun. It is always great to see kids having fun and learning new things. Reminds us of what miracles they truly are. Tomorrow is DBI's summer clearance sale down in Fort Bedford Park. We are signed up to attend, but to be honest with you I am not sure we will be there. Once again they keep changing the forecast making it difficult to decide. If the heavy mist and rain continues we will probably just stay home. Thank you again for understanding and for your patience with us. God bless. 🐾🦴

06/19/2023

Hello again everyone!!We are sorry we could not attend last week and appreciate everybody understanding. We are ready to rock and roll this Wednesday though as we gear up for Kids Day at the market! There will be balloons, and games and dog treats and vouchers! It is always fun to see the kids enjoying themselves and watching the parents try to keep up😁. Stop on by the booth cause you never know when there might be something special for the kids lurking among the dog treats (Gee, I wonder what that could be?). We are planning right now to attend DBIs Clearance sale event at Fort Bedford Park on Saturday, however, at this writing there is an 80% chance of rain. More on that later. See you on Wednesday!! Blessings to all! 🐾🦴

06/12/2023

Hi everybody! First let me thank all of you who stopped by the booth to chat this past Wednesday, especially the vets. We again thank you for your service and look forward to seeing you whenever you are in town. Now, about this coming Wednesday. As of five minutes ago there is an 80% chance of rain for the market. That is wonderful because we need the rain badly. However, as I have told you in the past it is bad for dog biscuits. We will continue to monitor the weather and make a game day decision on whether to attend or not. We hate to inconvenience anyone but we would rather miss a day than sell you a soggy product. As of now we are hoping to be there but, more will be revealed Wednesday morning. Thanks for understanding. Blessings to all. 🐾🦴

06/05/2023

Well, things are starting to slow down a bit after last week. We are grateful that we could be a part of the Good News Boutique this past Thursday and Friday. The Women's Guild of St. John's Reformed Church in Loysburg is a hard working group who supports their church, Women's Fellowship organizations, the community, and various missions. Kudos to them as they continue to do God's work as they are guided. Ok, this week there is absolutely no excuse to miss the Bedford Farm Market. The weather is supposed to be beautiful maybe even a little cool, which after last week is a nice respite. To all our veteran's we thank you for your service and welcome you to participate in the first Veteran's Voucher day of the season. These are on a first come first serve basis so get there early get you $10 in vouchers and shop to your hearts delight. We are looking forward to seeing you and everyone else this Wednesday! Till then please know we wish you God's continued blessings.🐾🦴

05/30/2023

We here at OtisDawg can only hope you enjoyed your holiday as much as we did - which is why this post is coming today. Tomorrow is the Farm Market in Bedford and we will be there with bells on. The weather is supposed to be beautiful so it will be a good day to get out enjoy some sun and take a walk on the square. Also, OtisDawg will be setting up at St. John's Reformed Church in Loysburg (our home church) for the Women's Guild. "Good News Boutique." It is a fund raiser they are having this Thursday and Friday to raise funds to help support their missions. We will be there after 8:00 am on each day and will be set up with other vendors for the day. It will be another nice day to get out and help support those who seek to do good. Blessings to each of you!🐾🦴

05/22/2023

Wow, what a day! Spent the morning baking pumpkin treats then did some chores for several hours. Just now started prepping the bones for smoking first thing in the morning and the Mrs. is busy making pupcakes. Why you may wonder? Why because the farm market is on Wednesday and not only is it supposed to be beautiful, it is the market before the holiday weekend!! So, stop on out, buy some treats and then celebrate the Memorial Day weekend with family and friends. In the midst of your cookouts and revelry, please take a minute to say a prayer for those who selflessly gave the greatest gift they could so we can continue to live the lives we do. And, give an extra hug to someone you love. Blessings all. 🐾🦴

05/16/2023

Hi everyone. Sorry this is late but we were celebrating Mother's Day the last two days. Mrs. OtisDawg is worth the celebration because of all she does and all she is. Well, tomorrow is the day! The farm market opens, it is supposed to be a beautiful day, the treats are ready and the bones are smoking. I may even get a haircut. So, put a smile on your face, a bounce in your walk and come on out and give us a visit. We are looking forward to seeing everyone again! Till tomorrow...God Bless!!!🐾🦴

05/11/2023

Here I am, outside enjoying the weather, doing stuff, and I remember I got something to do. Talk to you guys. Duh. The weather gets nice and the old brain just goes loopty loo. And, that is ok. Wanted you to know we have a pre-market warm up event this weekend. That's right. We will be at St. Thomas Community Center here in Bedford on Saturday from 9 till 3 doing a Mother's Day Extravaganza. From what I read it will be a good day to come inside and do some last minute shopping for Mom. That includes puppy moms too. Farm Market begins at 9 am on the 17th 😁. More on that soon. Take time this weekend to celebrate mom and understand what a truly blessed gift God has given us. Happy Mother's Day!!! 🐾🦴

04/13/2023

I took a break from some spring clean up work to come inside and send a note. This is for our friends in Somerset and is something I should have done a while back but haven't been able too. After the last market in Somerset the board of directors of the Somerset Farm Market met and decided to disband the market after all these years. It was a difficult decision to make. But probably the best decision for the market. As most of you know we were not coming back to the market this year primarily because of the drive and the wear and tear it was making on us. We are not spring chickens any more. What you may not know is there were several other vendors not returning either. Each for their own reason. You guys were always the reason we came and you guys are the reason we will miss the market so very much. Thank you does not do justice to our gratitude, yet it is all we can offer. Thank you all for your friendship and support throughout the years. If you need some treats or just want to visit we will still be in Bedford on Wednesday mornings, and if you keep an eye on this page we will be doing some events off and on throughout the summer and fall on the weekends. Again, we thank you for everything. We are truly blessed to have been a small part of your lives. We pray God's peace be with each of you.

04/03/2023

It certainly was nice to go home and help the Cove Lions with their fund raiser. We met some new friends and reunited with some old. That combination always ends up positively. So, now we are done until the Bedford Farm Market opens on May 17. Time now to do some spring chores, get some stuff ready for market season, rest a little and make plans for the near future. We are asking you to please take some time to reflect, pray and meditate during this holiest week of the year and then celebrate the fact that He has risen, He has risen indeed. Easter blessings to each of you. ✝️🐾🦴

03/28/2023

I am happy, and kind of excited. For the first time in what, seven years(?), we are coming home for an event. That's right, you can come home again. This Saturday we are helping the Cove Lions Club in Loysburg with a fundraiser. We will be at the LIons Community Building (where I have many fond memories) from 9 am until 4 pm this Saturday April 1. There will be various vendors attending and the Lions will have their kitchen open serving food. If you have ever been to one of their Sunday brunches or Wing nights then you know there will be some good eats! So, take some time come see where I grew up and help support a good organization and a good cause! We look forward to seeing you there! God bless...🐾🦴

03/20/2023

It was kind of a chilly weekend eh? Some would say invigorating. However it did not stop us from making some new friends and running into some old friends while working at the Fix A Pet fundraiser. Those experiences alone made it a wonderful weekend. But, we are not done yet. In two weeks we will be in Loysburg at the Lions Building helping them with a fundraiser. I will send you more info on that in about a week. In the meantime I pray you are enjoying this Lenten season as we prepare for Easter. Blessings to all...🐾🦴

03/14/2023

Hi everyone! Well, this week we are returning home. We will be at the American Legion participating in the Fix a Pet Benefit this weekend. The baking is done and I pick up bones today and start smoking tomorrow. The event is in the lower level of the Legion and will be held on Friday from 10 am to 6 pm, Saturday from 9 am to 5 pm and Sunday from 11 am to 4 pm. We will have someone manning the booth at all times. This is for a good cause and something we should all support so, come on out, check out the goodies that all the vendors have, grab a bite and visit a spell. We hope to see all of you. It has been a while. God's blessings upon each of you...🐾🦴

03/06/2023

what a nice weekend it was! we had the opportunity to meet new people and make new friends and when we can do that, it is a wonderful weekend!! Thank you to all who came and visited we hope to see you all again soon. Our next event is over the St. Patty's day weekend at the Legion in Bedford. More details on that at the beginning of next week. Right now we need to talk prices. As most of you know we work hard to keep our prices down so everyone can treat the pups. At this point we have raised last years prices only on the small dog treats and we increased the number of biscuits you get to help us feel better about that. There have some adjustments to some treats but that is all. I would like to promise you we will not raise the prices at all this year but I can't. Eggs alone are killing us. If our producers raise prices then unfortunately we will have to make some changes. We know you understand and are grateful for you patience with us. We will keep you informed as the season progresses. More soon.... Blessings to each🐾🦴

03/03/2023

Ok everyone, we know it is a little late but we wanted to give the weather the benefit of the doubt. Otis the Dog has told us we are not to travel in this weather today so, we will not be attending the Home Show in Altoona this evening. We will be there all day tomorrow beginning at 10 am and working till 7 pm. We are asking everyone to stay home, stay safe, make a fire and drink some hot chocolate. We will see you tomorrow. God Bless...🐾🦴

02/27/2023

Hello friends. As I promised, here are the details for this weekend. The official name of the event is the Blair County Home, Garden & Wellness Showcase! It begins this Friday from 4 til 8 pm but, be careful because they are calling for nasty weather (which case we will not attend that day). Saturday hours are 10 am til 7 pm and Sunday 11 am til 4 pm. We will be at the Blair County Convention Center, lower level and there is a $5 cover charge. If I looked at the map correctly we will be on the right at the far end the second vendor. There will be lots of stuff to look at and a scavenger hunt for the kids and plenty of food. Come on out and check it out. We are looking forward to seeing everyone again. It is our first event so if we are a bit rusty we know you will understand. 😊 Oh, and a PS. I have just committed to another event the weekend of March 17, 18, 19 at the Bedford American Legion. More on that a little later. See you soon!!🐾🦴

02/16/2023

Well now. Would you believe OtisDawg is coming to life again? That's right. I was up and baking first thing this morning to get ahead of the game. We will be attending the Blair County Home and Wellness Show on March 3 - 5. That is like, in two weeks. Go figure, Coming out of hibernation is hard but we are doing it slowly so that by the 3rd we will be bright eyed and bushy tailed and ready to go. Mark your calendars and we will be back with the details next week. Right now I think I will take a nap. Part of the process, you know. God bless each of you! 🐾🦴

12/21/2022

Well, we took care of the last bit of business we had for the year today. Throughout the year many of you have told us to, "Keep the change." We take that change and at the end of the year we buy some food and donate it to Abby's Angels, a local adoption agency for dogs. You may know them from the market in Bedford. They set up beside us. Thank you all for your generosity and kindness. We wish you all God's peace and joy this Christmas and pray it continues throughout the New Year. MERRY CHRISTMAS, EVERYBODY!!! 🐾🦴

12/12/2022

Hello everyone! Hope your Advent season is going nicely and it is not too hectic. Just wanted to remind everyone that if you have not placed an order you will need to do so by tomorrow as I am preparing to put together everyone's treats in the next few days. A reminder; this Saturday. I will be in Somerset where we set up for the farm market at 10:00 am and in Bedford at 1:00 pm. Again I will go where we set up for the farm market. Because of time constraints I can only give a 15 minute window if you are running late. I am looking forward to seeing you all again even if it is briefly. Ho Ho Ho!!! 🐾🦴
