And down they go. Just put the first batch down. Splash, blue, black and a mystery. I have a chocolate hen in with my splash rooster. Will candle in a week and see how they're doing.

So she thinks she's hiding her and her eggs from us. She went broody under the front stairs and I can't get to her.

So did a test run on the new incubator (and learned how to run it). Had a few hatches but somehow ended up with 2 chocolate chicks. I'm scratching my head as my gals are all blue and black and my roos are splash and black. Someone is hiding something...

Sorry I haven't post in quiet a while. The ladies are finally laying and I have 1 black rooster covering 6 gals. Fertility is great bit I'm working on the hatch rate. As chicks hatch I will contact those that have contacted me. :-)

Found the new egg laying spot. I have several hens that just refuse to into the coop at night so they roam in the morning. I got the stink eye when I walked outside.

Snowy day! Half of them are drama queens and don't want to move. A brave few ventured out for corn.

Came home this weekend from work and has 2 small surprises in my small chicken house. I have 1 super broody hen and 2 just broody ones keeping them warm.

It starts! Orpingtons not laying yet but the main pen is finally starting up. I want to get some more green and dark layers but that has to wait.

Some of the ladies and guys like the snow but most don't. Took the sound of fresh water to coax some out of the chicken house in the big yard.

First set of Blue Buff Columbian Orpingtons. I have 4 ladies and 1 dude. The next batch that I got from Texas look like raptors with no feathers. That group is just the opposite. I have 2 gals and 6 dudes!
