This is why I love my job. This might look like a weird video but it’s pure joy of a 13 year old lab who I have watched age over the last 8 years I’ve cared for him. Now needs his food held at just the right height bc of a condition he developed in his old age. The gratitude he has wagging his sweet little tail that someone is here loving him, feeding him. You can’t beat the love of an animal!

Lick mat stimulation for my little Mabel. Similar to the stuffed Kong this is a great way to keep your pup busy and stimulated. The different textures, different flavors and the fact that it’s frozen helps to keep their attention, stimulates them, and is a delightful, healthy snack.

Sweet Potato
Carrots
Peanut butter (make sure no xylitol)
Bone broth (low sodium, no onions)
Canned pumpkin
Treats
Cooked meat
Kibble
Canned dog food
Plain low fat Yogurt
These are all great options to add into your lick mat or kong before you freeze it!
You can’t even imagine how complicated this was to video while doing it 😂. And it’s still a terrible shot. This is one of my FAVORITE toys to use for active pups. I will post a link for it in my story.
Recently some people have decided to stop using doggy daycare and start daily visits with us due to the increase in this new illness in dogs. This is one of the tools we used to help tire them out and stimulate them at our visits. We also offer solo walks on the trail, we do not ever do pack walks or interact with other dogs.
As a precaution we do sanitize our shoes, clothes, and hands in between houses and we never share toys, towels, brushes or any other pup tools.
