The Fourth of July is a time for celebration, but it can be stressful for our furry friends. Here are some tips to ensure your dog stays calm and safe during the festivities:

1. **Create a Safe Space 🏠**: Set up a quiet, comfortable area in your home where your dog can retreat if they feel anxious. Include their favorite toys and a cozy bed.

2. **Desensitize to Sounds 🔊**: In the weeks leading up to the Fourth, play recordings of fireworks at a low volume. Gradually increase the volume to help your dog get used to the sounds.

3. **Exercise Beforehand 🐕‍🦺**: Take your dog for a long walk or play an active game to tire them out before the fireworks start. A tired dog is a calmer dog!

We are fully aware there are pets that enjoy the snow. Let them play and have fun. But stay alert to several dangers cold weather and snow can bring to your pets (even your cold weather loving pets). Every year we are asked for assistance with frostbite, antifreeze consumption, and cold-weather related other cases that require veterinary care. 🐾
