My heart started thinking about Noah a few days ago. I always miss him but my heart just pulled at me. It’s been a year ago this week that we put my dearest friend and barn buddy Noah down. He was in his 40’s and still ministering to the kids around Project Hope (and me). But now he was in pain. So we said good-bye. I didn’t even know how to walk in my barn without him. We started everything with Project Hope with him. My daughter first rode him and he greatly contributed to the awesome person she is today. He changed all our lives. He was honest and would do anything for you. That’s about as hard to find in a horse as it is in people. He was patient and kind and would just wait on these broken kids to figure out the right thing to do. He was loving and forgiving. And my steady, eddy friend even through my anxiety and ups and downs. He taught me to trust more in God, to not have to control everything, and to believe in what I could do through Project Hope. Now over 2,000 kids later, most who experienced Noah’s healing energy, I say again, “Job well done Noah, and thank you”.
The second part of camp was riding horses and tie-dying hats.
What an exciting day yesterday. 15 girls ages 5-8 with some teen helpers participated in the My Little Pony Unicorn camp and had a blast. The girls first decorated their unicorn horses and then did a photo shoot.
Treat or Treat on Horseback this weekend and next
Shalom
Our beloved Shalom passed. In October he was retired to pasture. We appreciate all the love and support the family he was living with gave him. You are a blessing.
Shalom was the most peaceful horse and helped hundreds of kids. Eli being in 4h with Shalom was one of the best things he did. Shalom would just patiently wait for him with his healing eyes and forgiving soul. He gave Eli confidence, perseverance, and connection, which we will be eternally thankful for.
Shalom you touched so many lives and will be deeply missed. Please feel free to comment with any stories you have of Shalom that you would like to share. We would love to hear them and how he touched your lives.
We had a great group of campers and counselors this past weekend up at our Bowling Green location...check out all of these smiles!!!
Quick hello to some of our horses!
Trick or Treat on Horseback is going swell so far today! NBC Lima came out and filmed some of the event and we're going to be on TV at 6pm tonight! 😄
Toothless likes our new tractor. He has now claimed it. It is now his. Haha!
Trick or treat in Findlay
This video is of a little boy superhero and Project H.O.P.E.'s newest mini horse Sirus. Our superhero was born with apraxia. Apraxia is a disorder of voluntary movement where one cannot execute a purposeful activity despite the presence of adequate mobility, strength, sensation, coordination, and comprehension. When our superhero began with Project HOPE this summer, he was shy and struggled to walk on the sand by himself. As you can see he has opened up and enjoys trying to get a hug from Sirus. He is now able to move his body to simulate the movement of the horse while riding. His visits have helped in many areas of his life.
This video is being shared with written permission from his mother.
Happy Mothers Day we hope that your child didn't lay on your food 😂!
