We're thrilled to introduce you to Travolta, a brave survivor with an indomitable spirit! 🌟 Rescued by MCAW officers from the depths of some woods, this 5-year-old feline warrior had faced tough times, enduring serious injuries and unimaginable hardships. A special thank you to the Good Samaritan who initially contacted our officers for help.

When we found Travolta, he was a stray, battling through life with severe wounds, including maggots in his paws and a broken jaw. 😿 But thanks to the swift action of our dedicated medical team, Travolta received medical attention at the Bishop Animal Shelter. Our compassionate staff didn't hesitate, providing him with pain relief, antibiotics, meticulous wound care, hydration therapy, and repairing his fractured jaw. 🏥💕

Now, after undergoing significant treatment and care, Travolta is on the mend! His strength and resilience shine through as he embraces life with his endearing sweetness and affectionate nature. 🌈✨ Currently recuperating in a loving foster home, this resilient soul will need to continue his recovery for the next 5-6 weeks.

🐾 Great news for pet owners! Thanks to Lost Pet Services, Inc., we're excited to announce a fantastic initiative for our furry friends!

Lost Pet Services, Inc., a leading nonprofit dedicated to lost pet recovery and safety-net programs, is making a significant impact in Manatee, Sarasota, and northern Charlotte counties. 🌟

Teaming up with Manatee County Animal Welfare at the Bishop Shelter in Bradenton, Lost Pet Services (LPS) has introduced a free microchip program. This initiative aims to provide complimentary microchips and lifetime registration to pets once they are reunited with their families. This invaluable program helps pets without proper identification who have been admitted to the shelter.

His foster mom tells us, “Some of Cody's favorite things are...

2. Watching out the back door and barking at the egrets in the pond (he's a protector).

She’ll remain foster-to-adopt through her procedures and recovery, then finalize her adoption when she’s completely healed up! 👏

Working Cats Available Now at the Palmetto Adoption Center! 🐈

Last month, MCAW officers responded to a hoarding situation in a Myakka home, rescuing a total of 31 cats from the property, with more to come in the upcoming weeks. Now, 20 of these cats are available as part of our Working Cats program.

This unique initiative, established in 2019, was born out of our encounter with community cats that couldn't be reintegrated into a safe environment through our traditional Trap Neuter Return program. Recognizing their preference for an outdoor lifestyle, we launched an adoption program to provide these “community” cats with the fulfilling lives they desire while also offering a valuable service to those in need of working cat assistance.

Following this recent cat hoarding case, MCAW has a group of working cats eagerly awaiting meaningful "jobs" right here in Manatee County. They can be found at the Palmetto Adoption Center. MCAW faces a critical situation with over 100 dogs at our Palmetto Adoption Center and 50+ at Bishop Animal Shelter. Due to high intake and declining adoptions, we're WAIVING ADOPTION FEES FOR ALL PETS to make space.

Meet Abu! 🐶 This adorable 4-year-old pup, weighing in at around 20 lbs, was rescued by a kind soul and brought to MCAW. Abu may be a bit shy initially, but he warms up quickly, and everyone agrees he's absolutely adorable. 💕💕

Abu arrived at the shelter Heartworm Positive, and he's also dealing with a fractured right femur. Thanks to , he's on his way to the Veterinary Surgery Center of Sarasota for leg repair and an FHO surgery that will make him feel much better. ❤️‍🩹

What Abu truly needs is an experienced medical foster, or a foster-to-adopt parent, who can support him through his recovery. If you think you can be that loving, caring, and kind person, WE NEED YOU! This goes for Abu and many others in need. ❤️
