As we take today to remember those who served our country, all Manatee County Animal Welfare locations will be closed.

Thank you, Veterans, for your sacrifice to protect our freedom!

As a reminder, all Manatee County offices and libraries are closed today. However, trash, recycling and yard waste collections are running normal schedules, with debris-removal operations continuing. Manatee County Area Transit, the Anna Maria Island Trolley and regular weekday Handy Bus also are operating normal schedules. The G.T. Bray Recreation Center is open until 1 p.m. Please go to mymanatee.org/VeteransDay for a complete list of County closings/reschedules.

Watch the Veterans' Day Parade this morning, hosted by Manatee County Veterans Council and City of Palmetto, starting at 9:30 a.m. at the Manatee County Fairgrounds and ending at Sutton Park.
