So it's been awhile since I posted anything, not since my Sgt Parker crossed the Rainbow Bridge.
Today was something new. I had an animal communicator come talk w him, yes talk w Traveler to see if he had anything to tell me. Well it was really cool. At first he was closed off but soon he was responding somewhat. For him, that's huge because he is always guarded. Had a few breakthrus, he'd been to a few "bad" places, he knows he's here forever. He likes his barn name, T-Mann. He's had a rough past but he's feeling safer here so going to be doing a lot of healing energy work pulling the bad out & getting his confidence back...really amazed at his small change in behavior, softer eye, more affectionate. Very pleased with the outcome today.

Vet visit today. Please please please donate , share, both as there's enough raised to see vet but not enough for either surgery or euthanasia. Today will be the day to decide. If euthanasia then he will have a doggie day for burgers park etc. My heart hurts as I've been fortunate to have this boyo 14 of his 16 years. Thank you all so much & God Bless

Tomorrow is the day for decisions. Parker's appointment is at 10:30. Surgery can run 500 to 2000; PTS can be 100 to 350. Thank you to the donors that made it possible to get him to the vet. Welp, with all that's going on with Parker T-Man & I forgot to post the scary thing that happened...still haven't got it out of Traveler the how n why but...there are cameras on the back paddock. Watching the camera night before last I see something big hanging from T's halter. T is not moving either. So out I go to find out what my big brat got into now. Well, low & behold he had a little wrought-iron side table hooked to the ring of his halter. Well needless to say, getting that off was a bit of a trial. Every time I tried to just unhook it he'd panic, sling the damn table & bolt! The first bolt was crazy but after that it was a few bounces sideways, a loud "whoa, T stop" from me with each bounce & he did whoa & stop(proud of him, listening while panicked). I managed to get the halter unclipped, unbuckled & off. Away he went while I threw that table in the junk pile. How he did it I'll never know but no more halter. He will learn to halter for work & unhalter after. Got vet bills for my Parker coming up, can't afford an equine one right now!!!
This incident is the very reason halters are not left on during turn out. I will not leave it on him again. We will just practice halter, on halter off until he willing puts it on. The only reason it was on was to be able to catch him. Never again.
So that is the tale of the horse, the halter & the table! All is well once again!

SGT Parker Barrington has a vet appointment Monday. So far 150 raised will cover appointment, maybe an xray and/or blood work. If surgery is an option I will take it if he won't suffer & have some more quality time on the planet, but there's always the other decision too. Please donate, share if you can't donate. My boy deserves a good end of life & I'm determined to give him the best I can til he's called home. Thank you all soooo much.

My boy has been with me 14 of his 16 years. His first momma gave him to me & I'm forever grateful. I need to get him to a vet asap & my retirement just didn't make it. If they can remove the growth & give him some more time it's my duty to try for him. He is a sweet guy all the time.💔🐶💔

Howdy y'all sorry about the long absence but had some personal stuff to take care of before starting this project. We will have an announcement soon as we are working on our 501c3 for our sanctuary rescue for aged equines.
One Last Gallop has at the moment 4 senior horses, all rescues, one from imminent death. We will tell his story on the page once we are officially a 501c3. We're not asking for anything again until we have our paperwork to be tax deductible. Hoping this pans out because caring for seniors costs us everything every month. We need to be able to fund raise or have a few sponsors to help us keep them fed & healthy until their last day on the planet. So Happy New Year y'all Here's to all the senior horses out there: Thank You for all you gave us humans.

Hay y'all, Charli here. Sorry I haven't posted updates lately. I know, I'm a slacker 😉 Anyways, a couple weeks ago I wanted to see what Traveler knew, if anything. Well things went ok at first. I put the lunge line on him & walked him into the makeshift roundpen. We played a little then I wanted to see if he'd lunge a bit. Well, he did, and we got a nice couple rounds a few times. But this boy got a sweet tooth & I had some circus peanuts for reward on the mounting block. Huge mistake...he knew they were there & on one of his rounds he thought he'd take a short cut thru an open section, got the line hung up, took down half a panel, & he was gone, line flying behind him off his chin. He thought that was horrid & ran like a horse possessed all because he was trailing a lunge line. He finally slowed down but kept freaking every time he'd bob his head & that line moved, off he'd go. I grabbed a peanut, calmly walking up from the bottom of the pasture, watching him go crazy lol. I stopped halfway up & yelled Traveler, WHOA! By George he did too! I was so proud of him but even more so when I told him Stand & he did, waiting for me to come remove the evil, scary line. He stood, ate his peanut & I unclipped his line, rolled it up & walked to the stairs to leave. He followed me but refused to come close to the evil line, lol 😆 Finally, circus peanuts, he cannot resist! He touched the line to take one, 2, 3. We are definitely gonna try this again, without circus peanuts!!!
