To my valued clients:

This is a bittersweet message, to let you know that I’ll be closing my practice as of September 1st, 2022. After 40 years in Clear Lake (and 41 years in practice) it is time to hang up my stethoscope.
I know this is a difficult time for anyone to locate a new clinic for their pet’s care. We have dealt with this issue in this clinic for the past 2 years. Please plan ahead in finding a new practice that is the best fit for you and your pets. My best advice is to think farther afield…just as those of us in Clear Lake already have to travel to go to the dentist, pharmacy, clothing store, or hospital.
Please contact us (715-263-3003 or [email protected]) for copies of your pet’s medical records; they can be emailed either to you or directly to your new provider. They will be available for some time after closing, although after September 1st there may be a short delay in response to requests.
Believe me, this is a huge milestone for all of us. Attempts to sell this profitable and busy practice have not been successful. In the current veterinary profession there is a lack of staffing and, while I love living in a small town, apparently potential clinic owners are not enthusiastic about the rural life.
I have loved coming to work every day, and have 40 years of memories of pets and their humans…some wonderful, some humorous, some incredibly sad. The best employees have shared these years with me. Please be polite and kind to them when you call for appointments and/or records in these last 6 weeks.

Looks like Ella will be having a Merry Christmas after winning our fabulous gift basket! (Notice the blurry tail...typical lab, it never stops wagging!) She's under strict instructions from Dr. Nancy to share those toys with the other dogs and cats in the family...or she goes on the "naughty list"!

Enjoy your Thanksgiving dinner, whatever you decide to serve....just don't serve it to your pets. Dog vomiting and diarrhea from turkey, gravy, pie (or cranberry candles) is not the way to celebrate a holiday weekend!

Love my employees...Marcy, Kristi, Connie and Maddie! Let them know how much YOU appreciate everything they do to keep the phone answered, the "accidents" cleaned up, the injured comfortable, the medications given, the lab work done, the anesthetized monitored, the nails trimmed, the doctor organized, the nutritional advice given, the blood drawn, the comfort given to patients and clients.

Dog parks can be a fun place for Fido, particularly if you remember a few common sense things:
-Vaccinations up to date
-Flea preventative in use
-Bring your pet's water bowl (and water if not provided)
-Walk the perimeter before turning Fido loose to insure that fencing is intact
-If any dogs already there act sketchy or aggressive, leave.
-If your dog acts sketchy or aggressive, leave.
